Tow Truck! - Evan - 03-15-2006

Picked up a 2006 Nissan Titan SE Kingcab tonight

For the 15 miles ive driven it so far I love it. Rides great, handles fantastic for a truck, great interior and amenities (amenities, whats that?!!!) and even at low RPMs partial throttle it sounds MEAN Smile
Only gripe so far is that it has the "titanium" interior instead of the "steel" interior. I didnt even know this was an option until I got home and I realized it. No big deal though, other than that its the EXACT truck that I wanted, and the dealer got it for me in 1 day. And I have a feeling the titanium color scheme will grow on me where the cheesy plastic wannabe aluminum will probably look dated pretty quickly.

Options are:
-Popular package (they force you to get this) which includes stuff like autodimming mirror, electric seats, homelink, compass/thermometer, backup sensors and steering wheel audio.
-Towing package (or course). class 4 hitch, wiring, big battery, trans temp gauge, tow mirrors, and lower final drive. (no mention of trans cooler though, i wonder if those are already standard?)
-Traction Package. -- LSD and tow hooks
-Utility Bed package -- (very cool) sprayon bedliner, modular utilitrack system, lockbox in bed

I got a great deal because my company does Nissan's website, and as a "business associate" we get the "VPP" employee pricing plan on nissans and infinitis

More pics and info tomorrow when its light out.

I now have 3 cars with a total displacement 5.8L, and 1 truck with a displacement of 5.6L

Very nice man, I dig it!

- Maengelito - 03-15-2006

nice! now to properly christen (sp?) the truck, you need to get gerald to see if any sluts need a ride next time it snows

- JohnC - 03-15-2006

Looks good... 4WD or 2WD?

- ScottyB - 03-15-2006

very nice, did you test drive any other trucks before you picked this up, or did you know from the beginning that you wanted this one?

- Jeff - 03-15-2006

Looks 4X4 to me John (maybe a little low though...hmm). Nice looking truck. We had a slate over gray one for awhile on the used lot. It had 13k miles on it. Didn't do much for me, mainly because of that bed-package. There wasn't really any room back there unless you remove everything. Other then that it seems like a nice ride. Interior seemed nice and there was power to spare. Needs more HEMI (lol)

nice lookin' truck! I remember seeing John S.'s and i thought it was a pretty sweet truck. Color matching with the race car as well, did you get decals for this one Wink

- .RJ - 03-15-2006

Its 2wd w/ LSD

- Jeff - 03-15-2006

Only the Rainbow sticker

Really a 4X2? It looked low but those are the same as the 4X4 wheels. I assumed they were like most of the rest and had a fancy 4X2 wheel, a common but cheap wheel, and a fancy 4X4 wheel. I come from a world where 4X2 trucks make 0 sense...I guess NOVA has a little bit better snow service and fewer trails.

- Feersty - 03-15-2006

Nice purchase Evan, the color matches the Miata hardtop!

I come from a world where 4x4 makes (almost) zero sense Wink
2wd is better for towing, and it only snows maybe twice a year here, so that is not reason enough for me to pay $4k for 4wd. The LSD, good tires, and some weight in the bed will get me through any kind of snow we get here. The 2wd is also not any lower than the 4wd.
The bed on this truck is 6.5', as big as a F150 bed. The truck you guys had must have been the crew cab with smaller bed.

- Jeff - 03-15-2006

It had 4 full doors and a useless little bed. I see from looking a bit closer yours is a club cab. I guess the 4X2 makes a ton more sense for what you are doing... Once again, NICE TRUCK! (needs more HEMI)

hotness, great pick Evan!

- Sijray21 - 03-15-2006

there's something about a Red truck that is just hot though (no pun intended)

i'm a huge fan of this truck (although i don't really know much about trucks :hammerSmile

- ScottyB - 03-15-2006

thats a really nice interior color...i think i like it more than aluminium

- John - 03-15-2006

Har, nice purchase you got there Evan... and it looks awfully familiar. Wink
