High Temp Velcro - Evan - 03-13-2006 As anyone who has tried to mount something with velcro inside a car knows, regular velcro adhesive (even the heavy duty stuff) doesnt hold up to heat and it falls right off. I did some investigating and found some Velcro industrial strength polymer based adhesive that holds full strength to 240 degrees (full release is actually much higher). The problem is that the smallest lengths I can get this in is 25 yards. So if you are interested in buying a yard or two let me know. Should only be around $4-$5 for a yard (which is a lot of velcro!) Good for mounting laptimers, gauges, brake controllers, just about anything. This stuff holds 65lbs per square inch so its super strong - Mike - 03-13-2006 count me in for a yard if you're for serious about that price... i can always find a use for velcro. - .RJ - 03-13-2006 I'm in - JohnC - 03-13-2006 I'll take two yards. - .RJ - 03-13-2006 how many yards would it take to fasten feersty's hands to his keyboard? - Mike - 03-13-2006 or cover his tires... could you imagine the grip? - PDenbigh - 03-13-2006 only if the roads were the opposite mating surface ;-) - Mike - 03-13-2006 minor detail. - BLINGMW - 03-13-2006 cool find! Where are you getting it from? We sell some gauge mounts that sure could benefit from that stuff - Jeff - 03-13-2006 I'm in for 1 yard! - Evan - 03-14-2006 sounds good. velcro ordered. if anyone else wants a yard or 2 let me know - mpg9999 - 03-14-2006 I'll take one yard... You going to be at summit april 1st/2nd? - Evan - 03-15-2006 sure will! - Evan - 03-16-2006 velcro is in. $5 / yard you can paypal me at elgorey@hotmail.com or just give me cash in person. Preferred delivery is in person, here in No.VA or at a track weekend like shenandoah on april first. If you want I can ship it to you, but shipping will probably be as much as the velcro itself. still plenty left for whoever wants any - Jeff - 03-16-2006 I'll have cash when I see you at an event! - Evan - 03-31-2006 bring your five dollah to shenandoah this weekend Mike Jeff mpg9999 anyone else? - Jeff - 03-31-2006 I won't be at shenandoah. I will call Rex and he can pick it up and pay for me...I hope... - WRXtranceformed - 03-31-2006 Man I had my old radar detector mounted with Velcro and the shit always came off in the summer time... it was really annoying. This stuff would have been perfect. Maybe if I get a new one I'll pick some of this stuff up ^_^ - Jeff - 05-25-2006 Just wanted to say I have not forgotten about this. Please bring it to Hyperfest! - Evan - 05-25-2006 will do! its in my toolbox btw- this has held my laptimer on to my dash in the direct sun and hot days where the industrial velco just slid right off. So far Im pretty pleased. |
