Who: Dean Fields (http://www.deanfields.com) - friend of mine, voted by Billboard Magazine as one of the top 5 up and coming vocalists in the Southeast. Has been touring the east coast all year and simply couldn't get any dates in the 'burg without his band. FWIW, his CD has been doing exceptionally well at the local Plan 9, so many people in this area know of him.
What: A concert, he'll go through some songs and chat. Very cool fellow. His music is much like David Gray's.
When: Saturday, April 24 noon-3pm (haven't finalized the time)
Where: D-Hall Commons
Why: Why not? He's a great singer, he's a very cool guy, you really can't say you have much else to do at that time.
I haven't worked out any sort of fundraising deal with him, but he may be willing to give us a few dollars per CD sold at the event.
