clutch master cylinder - Maengelito - 02-07-2006

this seems like a dumb question, but i never really thought about this until today. when the fluid level is low in a clutch master cylinder (assuming no leaks, unlike feersty and no top offs) does that mean that a clutch needs to be replaced similarly to brake fluid being low relating to pads being worn?

How low is it? I wouldnt think its a problem. Miata clutches should last damn near forever.

No. The CMC pushes on the CSC but the travel doesn't increase with wear because the CSC retracts to it's original position.

clutch slave cyl on miatas go out with relative frequency. I rebuilt mine 3 times over 2 years and just bought a new one

a bad slave cyl can leak and cause your fluid level to go down, if thats your symptoms

well, it was a little low, but i saw no sign of leakage, i was just thinking about it, thats all
