I don't know what the fuck is going down but this girl who lives with me used my computer and now my aim does not work.
Click on it and it shows me the hourglass for a second and then goes away. And that is it.
It's driving me crazy.

go there, get an older one, uninstall yours and install an older version. She probably got on her name... saw the update available since it was her first sign on and clicked yes.

I don't really know if the two things were related or not. I just used a half dozen spyware scanners, got rid of all the junk (I swear I don't watch porn) and magically made it work.
