Supra got slapped! - Dave - 01-16-2006 So, yesterday I'm outside wrenching on my SE-Rs. I'm getting ready to use my jack, so I decide to move the supra so that I don't risk hitting it with the handle. I park it across the street almost sitting on the line opposite of the car I parked next to (providing as much space as possible for them to open the car; see picture below). The girl comes out, opens the door to her purple late 90s V6 mustang, gets in and leans over to put stuff in her pass. seat and door proceeds to slam into my driver door. I heard it very clearly hit all the way across the street. Then, she proceeds to back out and drive by, and smiles at me as she passes by. I was in shock. I go and look at it and almost cry. It's not that it is that bad (although it is for a door ding), but the utter disregard of somebody else's property and the absolute lack of care displayed made me want to kill her. So, her boyfriend came out 10 minutes later, I point it out to him and tell him that I witnessed it and showed him the damage. Exchanged phone numbers and waited to see if she called me. Fast forward 7 hours and she finally comes back and I'm still working on the cars (yeah, it was a long day). She pulls in and another car pulls in behind her, who turns out to be her mommy (this girl is at least 21 btw). I approach her and basically she is really sorry and explains that the wind just caught it (wind wasn't really blowing at that time, but I didn't dispute it). I ask if she wants to get her insurance company to cover it or if she just wants me to get estimates done and bring them to her. Mom steps in and asks where I'm going to get the estimates done and I tell her the two shops that I trust to do the work. Girlie talks about how a friend of hers took her car to a detailer and got a ding taken care of (I bet her friend still had paint where that ding was) and that her car had lots of dings in it (there are probably several thousand mustangs in this town, there are 6 mkIVsupras in a 30 mile radius). We agree to get this resolved after I get estimates done. Took it to Michael's and Sunrise today and my quotes were $879 and $443. Quote at Michael's is b/c he wanted to blend the paint into the rocker and rear 1/4, Sunrise thinks a blend into the fender is all that is necessary. Either way, I've got a feeling this girl is going to think twice the next time she opens her door on a "windy" day. I know it is just a door ding, but it is the circumstances and manner in which it occurred and which car it happened to that upsets me. If I hadn't witnessed it, I never would have been able to recoop anything for a $500 repair bill. pics: ![]() ![]() ![]()
- Nis01 - 01-16-2006 Yuck man. I can't stand when I go out of my way to ensure my car's safety and some inconsiderate dope still manages to damage it. Glad you were able to take care of it and good luck with the situation. - Feersty - 01-16-2006 As long as you get that money. - .RJ - 01-16-2006 Does david allen have to choke a bitch? - Dave - 01-17-2006 .RJ Wrote:Does david allen have to choke a bitch?seriously, if I were a more violent person and not such a pacifist, I could have run over and kicked her door and beat her. I wanted to tell her that her hitting me door like that was the equivalent of me punting her little dog across the damned courtyard. It wouldn't have been nearly the beating I would administer to the person that keyed my car way back when, but it wouldn't have been a massage either  - Goodspeed - 01-17-2006  - Ryan T - 01-17-2006 After you get it all settled, you should punch her in the face. Sucks that happened man, just not the time for mkiv's in this town. - Maengelito - 01-17-2006 Ryan T Wrote:After you get it all settled, you should punch her in the face. or mushroom stamp, either way... if you dont like door dings, dont move to charlottesville. i think the sti has like 4 or 5 door dings in it, and i try to be careful everytime i park Re: Supra got slapped! - white_2kgt - 01-17-2006 Dave Wrote:So, yesterday I'm outside wrenching on my SE-Rs. Is that a common problem for you when using a jack? - CaptainHenreh - 01-17-2006 What was she doing anywhere near David Allen's Abused Car Lot anyway? - ScottyB - 01-17-2006 poop on her hood. nothing pisses me off more than things like what she did, except for people that ride in the left lane so nobody can pass. - Chris - 01-17-2006 man I hate that shit... it happens way too often. - Sijray21 - 01-17-2006 ScottyB Wrote:poop on her hood. i concur sorry dave , i hate it when people just don't give a crap about others' belonging especially vehicles that are well taken care of.

Jay, I feel ya on the keying, I'm afraid that all the pacifism in the world would not prevent me from disemboweling the cocksucker who keyed the supra. I don't know how you can even look at the Si, as many times as she has been ravaged and left for dead like a cheap skank, er, yeah. You definitely gets top honors for most stolen parts/car and most dedicated to cursed cars. Since it's no longer in my possession the memories aren't as frequent, but the teg already had its first encounter 2 weeks after i bought it. I miss the civic though, i get teary eye-ed when i see another MR Civic coupe, especially if it's an Si.... i can tell that you are like me in the fact that if someone was keying my car and i caught them i'd be in jail for assualt and battery and maybe a few other charges Re: Supra got slapped! - ScottyB - 01-18-2006 theguywiththeSi Wrote:i'd be in jail for assualt and battery and maybe a few other charges death by rice suffocation unless they're a female under the age of 17, at which point the charges might be less to do with assualt and more to do with alcohol and minors  - Jeff - 01-18-2006 Cleveland Steamer for her. Get a "Dent Wizard" to look at it. Dent wizard and Color-tec can have that fixed up quick without repainting your door. It will look better if it is done that way. Call me or something and I can get you some numbers. I know a dent wizard trained guy who is freelance now. He could hook you up. Then we can call color tech and see how much they would charge to mix the paint and spray the spot. It is so neat to watch them work. - Dave - 01-18-2006 I'd probably go that way if I had to pay for it. However, I was thinking about having some paint work done anyway, and she's paying for the damage, so it's gonna be done at a body shop. |
