Good luck with that
- HAULN-SS - 01-16-2006 Basically, it's my dad's truck, and he wants a 2006. Dealer trade in was higher than 24k , assuming he bought the truck from them, which he'll probably do, but I figured I'd post here in case anyone needed a good tow vehicle, etc. And it would free him up to buy the new truck anywhere he found the one he wanted - .RJ - 01-16-2006 If your dealer trade in was higher than $24k, take it and run. Really, really fast. - HAULN-SS - 01-16-2006 like i said, probably will...but figured I'd post here too, 24k is wayyy cheap for a tow vehicle this nice, as compared with buying a new one - .RJ - 01-16-2006 KBB value is $19-$20k.... - Mike - 01-16-2006 .RJ Wrote:If your dealer trade in was higher than $24k, take it and run. Really, really fast. they're just playing with the numbers... - HAULN-SS - 01-16-2006 www.nada.com TOTAL PRICE trade/sell -> $23,575 retail -> $27,150 - .RJ - 01-16-2006 Edmunds: Trade-In Private Party Dealer Retail Total $18,342 $19,790 $22,286 As mike said, its just a shell game for the dealer. - Sijray21 - 01-16-2006 nada's usually higher than kbb from my experience, but if the dealer's willing to give you that much i would definitely take that! - HAULN-SS - 01-16-2006 right, and I will, but I'm just posting here for the sake of if someone wanted a nearly new pickup truck in great shape with every possible option in LTZ trim, you're getting it for 10-12grand off the sticker price of a 2006 with all the options - .RJ - 01-16-2006 HAULN-SS Wrote:you're getting it for 10-12grand off the sticker price of a 2006 with all the options You lose most of that just driving it off the lot ![]() Resale on american cars is t3h sux. - HAULN-SS - 01-16-2006 that's true, and that's precisely what you WONT lose if you buy this truck, that money is already gone. edit: also, all these resale values are averages...so I'm at the higher end of the range that is being used to compute the averages..so what? Go buy a colorado, or nissan or toyota or some other value priced small pickup truck if you want a BRAND New truck for 24k or less - .RJ - 01-16-2006 HAULN-SS Wrote:nissan or toyota or some other value priced small pickup truck if you want a BRAND New truck for 24k or less Well, its not a brand new truck Most people wont look at the high end of retail average on a purchase, even if it is from a dealer.I would much rather have a tundra or titan (even used), but I cant afford it so I'm buying a used F150. - Andy - 01-16-2006 RJ, this is his For Sale Thread. Layoff. He didn't ask for your opinion, just wanted to know if anyone wanted to buy it. - Mike - 01-16-2006 .RJ Wrote:I would much rather have a tundra or titan (even used), but I cant afford it so I'm buying a used F150. titan? blech. those are piles... - Dave - 01-16-2006 I'd rock a titan, although I have my preferences for the Thundra and Taco (imagine that!) - Feersty - 01-16-2006 Any pictures of the truck? - Ryan T - 01-16-2006 Mike Wrote:.RJ Wrote:I would much rather have a tundra or titan (even used), but I cant afford it so I'm buying a used F150. I must agree. My uncle bought a Titan and didn't even keep it two monthes. He managed to get it stuck in our field, where his 4x4 ranger would go just fine. He traded it in on a F-150 shortly after buying it. I wasn't too impressed with it at all. Looks good, but doesn't perform like I'd expect a truck of its stature to perform. - HAULN-SS - 01-16-2006 Yeah I can get pics this weekend, when I go home |
