Fire Bottles - white_2kgt - 01-10-2006

What are you guys going with? I don't want to do a whole system yet, mainly b/c I don't have the time to install it, and it cost so freeking much. So, CCR says I need at least a 2lb ABC with quick release metal mounts. Ideas?

mounted a 5 pound bottle to my trans tunnel where the pass seat would be.

I consider it for ornamentation only. If there is a fire, im getting the F out of the car, not fumbling around with a firebottle. Good for paddock stuff i guess, but thats it.

that's a big un, where'd you get it at?

Word of advice.... Make sure whatever mounting system you use for it is way overkill. A 5 pound projectile in a bad accident can take you out, helmet or no helmet.

hrm, I could be mistaken, its not that big so maybe its a 2 pounder. I got it from one of the online race shops, dont remember which.

I definately agree, and I definately think mine is well short of overkill. 1 metal strap is holding it in. I definately need to find a better bracket

This is my problem, I've having a hard time of finding a METAL QUICK RELEASE bracket for a small bottle.

Original Gangsta has them

mine is metal and quick release, with 1 strap securing the bottle. its just not too confidence inspiring. There is a version with 2 straps that I am going to upgrade to sometime.
