edecals.com = - .RJ - 01-09-2006 Yay, another poor vendor story.... So I was on the fence between ordering from edecals and having it done locally, given that edecals sells you everything you need for the car in one shot - http://edecals.com/raceg/roadrace_complete_kits.html but it was a bit pricey. However, one can get a pretty significant honda-challenge discount with them (50%) so I say what the hell and place an order last monday, along with 2 stripes (one red, one black). I asked the guy if he could get them to me by friday and he said no problem - order ships wednesday, and supposedly arrives friday.... Except they sent it USPS, which is absolutely terrible for a business shipment. Why? Because they wont deliver packages to your house larger than the size of a magazine.... so on saturday I get a notice in the mail that says 'come pick up a package' but by this time the PO had closed for the day. And I was hoping to knock out the vinyl over the weekend, since I had someone that was going to get it on the car for me, and the car goes off to piper sunday night. Anyways, I finally pick this up today, after leaving work early to get to the PO on time and waiting in line for 40 minutes and the invoice is for $125... ^w-t-f mate. Sure it was all 50% off, they just charged $116 for 2 stripes. What a fucking rip off. I'm really tempted to ship the whole thing back and dispute the charge on my Visa, because its really absurd. I could have bought 2 rolls of vinyl for $40, cut it myself and had a metric shit ton of vinyl left over. I never got a call back with a final price quote as requested, otherwise I would have told them to pound sand on the whole order. So, fuck those guys. My advice is to set up with a local shop, you'll get better service and if you keep going back there they're likely to cut you a deal. - Sijray21 - 01-09-2006 so you ordered it without knowing the final price? did you have to pay at the Post Office? just a little confused... the price sucks, but i hope it looks Bling  - .RJ - 01-09-2006 theguywiththeSi Wrote:so you ordered it without knowing the final price? Yes, I did. In retrospect, a bad idea. I really do know better - :hammer: theguywiththeSi Wrote:did you have to pay at the Post Office? No.... I just pulled the invoice out after I picked up the package. - Mike - 01-09-2006 .RJ Wrote:theguywiththeSi Wrote:so you ordered it without knowing the final price? can i be the first to say "you really do some dumb things?" i would have sent that shit back, as well as the miata shit. companies will continue to take advantage of people as long as there are a good number who will just "take it." - .RJ - 01-09-2006 Well my first mistake is not planning far enough ahead. When I do that, shit seems to turn out quite a bit better. - Feersty - 01-09-2006 Maybe a sticky with bad vendors would help! - .RJ - 01-09-2006 Part of the problem with sending it back is, I contacted one of the ECHC director and asked what his affiliation with edecals is since I always see him wearing an edecals shirt and have some stickers on his racecar - he set me up with the 50% discount, and I'd rather not burn any bridges because of a few bucks. - Dave - 01-09-2006 RJ, there is only one sticker that a car needs and all of us on here have it. You really shouldn't waste so much time on bling .Feersty Wrote:Maybe a sticky with bad vendors would help! That's what I was aiming for with this recommendation... http://mmsports.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=271 Maybe since the forum is getting bigger and more people testing more things, this would be a good thing to think about again. Perhaps have subforums for cars, shops, parts? - Mike - 01-09-2006 i still don't think subforums are necessary. there is little enough going on here that i think everyone can keep up. - Evan - 01-09-2006 http://www.beacongraphics.com/ thats where my roll of vinyl came from, less than $20 shipped, has done my whole car, and still have a ton left over - HAULN-SS - 01-09-2006 RJ, you're starting to act more and more like your avatar ;x - .RJ - 01-11-2006 Arrrrrrrrghhh!!!! F@#$%!@#%! My vinyl is the wrong fxcking font. They'll be receiving a phone call tomorrow morning. What I ordered: ![]() What I got:
- Andy - 01-11-2006 Looks to be the ever popular Ninja font. - Dave - 01-11-2006 KILL!! KILL!!!! - Evan - 01-12-2006 holy shit thats ugly - WRXtranceformed - 01-12-2006 That's JDM f0nt y0! - .RJ - 01-12-2006 Motherfuckers. They cant look into the order because they are moving offices...... and they also have a "no refund" policy - since this is their F up, they said "oh we'll just send you the correct vinyl" instead. Well, the guy that is going to lay down the vinyl for me is leaving monday and that wont work at all. This is really a load of shit. - ScottyB - 01-12-2006 don't give up, whatever you do. the more you become a pain in their ass the more they will be likely to say, "omg this guy won't shut up just send him his shit and never talk to him again". do they know you by name when you call (no email, call)? they should, by now anyway. call every single day, and don't always talk to the same guy. if you can find a "good one" get your situation figured out through him/her. i have to put up with this crap at work all the time with bad shipments of things we get in. i hate it when stuff like this happens but ultimately, like G and others said, if you just roll over and accept a faulty/poor/wrong product, they are essentially going to continue their wrongful business and not pay for their mistake with their own time/money. |
