Anyone in NOVA looking for a new place? - G.Irish - 12-18-2005

I'm looking to move in January-ish into a house or something somewhere here in NOVA. It seems like we can score a house with a 2 car garage that's reasonably close to a metro station for between $600 and $800 a month if we have about 3 or 4 guys living together.

I'm feeling out the idea right now, just looking for potential roomies.

bj and i are actively looking in the arlington area for a house.

- Beej - 12-19-2005

Yep, count me in.

No good can come of this

- G.Irish - 12-19-2005

Sure there can, I would have to get a S2000 to join the club.

I want to GTFO of my current place, but there is no house big enough to hold us and all of our crap Tongue

true... they'd have to have a shed in addition to a big driveway. garage would be very nice too.

I did see at least one house on craigslist (Springfield) that had a garage as well as a 2 car detached garage on the property. At the very least we'd need a two car garage and enough basement space to store all of the crap we've got.

...man if this were a later timeframe i would be very interested.

I moved into the house i'm living in right now in November, the lease is monthly (mom's the landlord), but i do have a roomate that would be f-ed if i moved out.

I am definitely looking for a place with parking and somewhat close to a metro. That price range is what i'm looking for with the obvious lean towards the lower end.

sorry i wasn't clear... i am only willing to live in the arlington or falls church area Smile i wouldn't move to springfield if my life depended on it.

I don't particularly want to live there either, I was just giving an example that there are houses out there that could fit the needs. I'd be willing to live as far out as McLean just as long as its close to a metro stop.

- Mike - 12-19-2005

word... i'd say west falls church metro is about as far as i'd like to head out on 66.

I like the way you think.

Yeah, same deal. Arlington (read: nice Arlington) would be ideal, especially close a metro. Garage and someplace to put our collection of cars and car parts, and you can sign me up yesterday.

- Evan - 12-20-2005

"nice Arlington" and "Garage and someplace to put our collection of cars and car parts" does not compute

- Mike - 12-20-2005

hehe agreed. i'm willing to settle for a decent driveway and a shed or basement. although, i did find a place with a two car garage last week... need to find that link.

same place, different pics in each link:

There are also some 3 bedroom townhomes with 2 car garages around. I don't particularly want to live in a townhome but 2 car garage would be cool.

- Mike - 12-20-2005

that top link i actually contacted the person, but haven't heard back. alexandria? no go for me. i don't care about townhouse or whatever. i'm just a no go for condos.

- G.Irish - 12-20-2005

Why not Alexandria? Still close, still has metro access, and Yellow/Blue line is A LOT less crowded than Orange line.

- Mike - 12-20-2005

i don't care about metro really... no alexandria because:

1) i'm commuting to sterling, no sense in making a long commute even longer
2) all the people i hang out with (when im not doing car shit) live in arlington
3) two coworkers live in arlington, i'd like to carpool with them

- Kaan - 12-20-2005

i might be in... it really depends on my review coming up to know if i can afford a bling place like you boys... but if i get it... i'm in... and i dont care where it is... i'm used to long commutes these days.
