I just got this email regarding my WRX - WRXtranceformed - 12-09-2005 Sounds mad sketch! This is from "Phil Everson" from eversonautostation@yahoo.com: Lee, Sorry for my late response. I forwarded the information of your vehilcle to my client for evaluation and confirmation.Due to time constraint on the fact that we are running short of time , i am delighted to tell you that my client has commended your vehicle and he has instructed me to carry on with this transaction, he also instructed me to inform you that payment will get to you in a cheque of $27,000 , which is a refund payment of a cancelled order earlier made by my client. Due to company policy this check has to be made out in this amount to you ,because company policy only allows a refund payment on one cheque. So you are required to deduct the cost of your vehicle $20,000 when payment gets to you and refund balance $7,000 to the shipper for him to be able to offset shipping & tax charges, and other cosmetic repair costs. After payment has reached you and balance sent to shipper, the shipper's agent will come for inspection, pick up (of vehicle & signing of title papers), some cosmetic touches and drive to a prepaid shipper to be shipped to my customer. Confirm this and forward your Names, Address and Phone number for payment to be made to you as soon as possible. Best regards to you and your family. Phil. What do you all think? I'm feeling a scam on this one. - KPWSerpiente - 12-09-2005 Duh. -T - Nis01 - 12-09-2005 I think I've seen one thats almost word for word the same as that... all having do with clients and other fluff. I'd go ahead and put that one in the waste basket. Edit... Plus, even if it wasn't, do you really want your Subie going to somebody that can't even talk to you on a personal basis? - Ginger - 12-09-2005 We see this stuff pretty frequently at the bank. It's a scam. End. - Nick325is - 12-09-2005 Same thing happened to my friend when he listed his car online. :? Nick - Ryan T - 12-10-2005 Yes, its a scam, pulled off many times. You'll be able to cash the check and such, and then ship the car, but after that you'll be informed by the bank that it was counterfeit and you will have to pay it all back, and the car will be gone. - JackoliciousLegs - 12-10-2005 I got that shit too for the FC - Andy - 12-10-2005 I got several of those for the Prelude. - WRXtranceformed - 12-10-2005 Weak homosexuality. - Sijray21 - 12-10-2005 sounds like someone needs their money cleaned i hated recieving those for the civic - John - 12-10-2005 Please wire money to Nigeria. - Jeff - 12-10-2005 I got one of those on a guitar I was selling. They wanted to send me a $1000 check and I was to give the guitar and the remainder ($300) over my asking price to the special delivery person coming to get it. |
