Well since I just started the only days I have off are:
Thanksgiving
Christmas Day
Day after New Year's(New Year's Day falls on a Sunday)
Thanksgiving is at my cousin's in Dumfries
Christmas Day my Uncle's in Vienna
New Year's Day recovering from New Year's Eve at home

Day after Thanksgiving (friday - CSC observes this ;-))
Day before Christmas (Friday)
Day after Christmas (Monday)
The week between Christmas and New Years (Project Shutdown - doing admin work during this time..sucks)
Day After New Years (1/2)
Annual Leave (1/2 thru 1/6) -- going to Killington, VT for a week of skiing!
I can't wait for the trip to Killington, VT! Right now it's just me and a friend renting a Village Studio with ski-in / ski-out access. If you would like to join, pm me for details. This is the only real vacation i'm getting this year.

Xmas - RI
New Years - maybe going to a friends shorehouse in Jersey
and by thanksgiving day, i quite literally mean that day, my flight doesnt leave BWI until 345 PM ON THURSDAY - and im coming back early saturday morning, someone sucks at waiting to buy plane tickets
Because of how my AWS days worked I was strongly considering taking of the four days between xmas and new years (getting 12 days off for the price of 4) but I need to save my vacation time for the Caribbean next fall

okay, i don't either, as you were here is my home, so in other-words i'm not leaving. girlfriend is working turkey day, so i got stuck with doing the cooking. x-mas, here, but cooking is optional, new years.....hmmmmm. probably do the "old guy" thing and fall asleep around 11:45pm.

Leaving for Georgia tomorrow to spend Thanksgiving with the elderly folks. Then on Saturday and Sunday I cruising over to Barber to run with TracQuest / Chin Motorsports. Should be a good time, but I'm still furious Hertz didn't my reserved F150 (which I confirmed last week) to tow the Z down to the dirty dirty Soff.
Christmas - who knows.

thanksgiving - i will be in a suburb of philly having dinner with lots of family, then friday we'll be goin to atlantic city like a good asian family.
xmas - probably goin to atlantic city, just like every other holiday over the past 4 years or so.
new years - not sure, but probably at a buddy's house in cville

For those of you in the area, what is DC and the surrounding area like for new years, i feel like it would not be worthwhile to try and go out, especially with a larger group of people.

Last time I went out in DC it wasn't bad buy you've got to scope out a party/bar to go to a few weeks in advance and get tickets. I wouldn't try to just bar hop or something on New Year's.
On Metro it wasn't hard getting back at all, but we might have left a little early.

I went to Fur nightclub last New Year's Eve. Tickets were $40 a piece. It was a great time and drinks were essentially free all night. It was a just that the group was toooooo big, 18 some people. I went with a bunch of girls and they acted like dumb b!tches all night. See what clubs are offering...I may look into going to one again this year. Fur also had a free champagne toast, but I never got any. There were scantly clad cage dancers too fwiw. But being single and not 'bringing' a female with you to a club is reason enough for me not to go out..You got to have someone to makeout with at midnight....
