Winter - mrbaggio - 11-11-2005 It's getting colder. How many still ride on a daily basis? How long do you think you will keep it up? I still ride to work most days. I am hoping to not have to winterize the bike. I plan to at the very least start it once a week. Maybe ride it around the block from time to time. -Justin - PDenbigh - 11-11-2005 If it gets to the point that 3-4 weeks have gone by w/o me touchign the bike, I put some Stay-bil in the tank and run it through the system, and the I start it up every 2-3 weeks and drive it around. When it's not being ridden, it's always covered and in the garage anyhow. So I am with you that I don't 'winterize' it persay. - JohnC - 11-11-2005 I've got some cold weather gear, but I'm just not finding the time to ride very often during the week... - Feersty - 11-11-2005 When I was at school I always had my dad start the bike once a week, let it run for a little bit and then shut it off. A lot of stuff needs to be bought to winterize the "right way", so starting every week is what I prefer and will do in the future. - .RJ - 11-11-2005 I'm still riding! I'm going to keep riding to work as long as i can... if the temps are above 40 in the morning I can handle the commute in - but when it gets to the point where its 30 deg outside all the time, I'll just start up the bike once a week, let it warm up and then run it around for a few miles. - .paul - 11-13-2005 ride till I die! but i can't ride till I get the new pods for my helmet
- derilict - 11-22-2005 I rode all through last winter, and plan on doing it again!!! - Sijray21 - 11-22-2005 i've been riding around a little, just to the store and back when i can. I'm planning on atleast starting it once a week during the winter, but i'm going to call my insurance company and let them know that i won't be riding it for Dec, Jan, and Feb to reduce some costs (it won't save me much now, but i'll start the trend). - JohnC - 12-11-2005 w00t! Just got back from a little ride around the county... A *bit* chilly, but not too bad. Just had to watch out for patches of snow in the corners 8) - .RJ - 12-11-2005 w00t, inded. I rode around for about an hour just to get out - the roads were pretty crappy, but dry enough to get out and ride. - Ginger - 12-12-2005 I thnk I'll go out tomorrow in the middle of the day to try out the muffler. Lunch? - mpg9999 - 12-12-2005 As long as you ride it at least once a month you will be fine. Thats what I do. - Ginger - 12-12-2005 Oh, I'm not in the least bit concerned with the bike being ok. I ride it more than enough to satisfy any "maintenance riding" requirements... some of us want to ride 'cause it's fun, though
- .RJ - 01-21-2006 200 miles in the past 2 days hock:Who would've thunk it would be 60 deg in late January.... - Mike - 01-21-2006 i took the long way home
