How safe do you consider Harrisonburg in terms of car thefts? This is my first year here and i've only seen one instance of thievery, but it was pretty big. (typeR getting it's interior stolen). Anyway, just wondering if cars get stolen or things get stolen out of cars around here alot.
BTW why are there so many Type Rs around JMU?

1 of those Type Rs is a GS-R, note the 4-lug slipstreams
I don't think theft here is nearly as bad as it is in NoVA, but I'd definitely keep the alarm armed if I were you.

not as bad as nova but my sister had her spoiler stolen 2 years ago in the freshmen lot and her wheels stolen last year in ashby.. both stock components from a 99 civic si
just dont drive a honda or acura and you should be straight hahahahaha

stereo theft is huge here, i had a friend get 2 different cd players stolen from his car/broken window in 2 weeks in 2 totally different areas of harrisonburg(not at JMU) by most likely 2 different people, then his sister got her cd player stolen a week after that, so thats 3 cd players in 3 weeks. I don't think its JMU kids doin it though, most likely townies lookin to score some money for a fix :roll:

the cops told my sister its townies and not students. the worst part is when they stole the si spoiler from my sister they totalled broke it from the bases so it was totally unusable (stupid asses) i think it is locals. i spotted a black hatch rollin threw ashby late as hell one night stopping and looking at every modified car. keepin an eye out for that kid. looked young like a HS student or something.. i just walked outside and watched his ass

as far as actual "car thefts" like you asked, I didn't hear of any for the 3 years I was there. I don't think the townies have their act together enough for that. Did see a, what was that, a civic outside of G's place one morning up on blocks though. Bling wheels were gone. Probably did him a favor. :lol: So yeah, I'd worry about external add-ons, but not so much about the actual car.

Nah, I don't think it was that car we saw, but I heard others were hit the same weekend. It's probably a troop of losers who go make a hit once a month or so and grab a few sets of wheels. FUN. :roll:

i hate this topic and my car....
luckily i've avoided thieving from my car for the most part, but up in nova is another story.
Stupid thieves....i was spared last year in the wheel snatching event that lasted a couple nights.

when her wheels were stolen i couldnt find any si wheels quick so i just got her a set of 03 si wheels for 300 bucks less than 500 miles on em with perfect tires froma freind... i agree that the stock si wheels are better but to her these are just as good so whatever :oops:
im assuming by EP wheels you mean the new si wheels? i guess????

Yeah, EP is the chassis code for the new Si. In case you didn't know, the new Civic EX has the 99-00 Si wheels as an option so they are pretty plentiful and cheap nowadays.

The chassis code is EP3. 99-00 Coupe chassis code is EM1.
Definitely seen that car around, cause it stands out. Is she into cars? Know what VTEC actually means?
