REQUIRED READING "Maximum Boost" - JustinG - 10-31-2005

Just thought id throw this out there, i forgot i even had this book, Its "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell. I was recommended this book when i was designing/building my turbo system for my car. Even if you arent planning on turboing your car you will gain a lot of knowledge. Heres a few Chapter titles:

Selecting the Turbocharger
Intercooling
Intake Manifolds
EFI
Carbs
Exhaust Manifold Design

Its a great book, i dont wanna sell it, being as its the only book ive read honestly from cover to cover, mainly cause there werent any sparknotes. But just thought id offer it to anyone who may wanna take a look at it. Especially all you miata guys who wanna take a look at turboing.

I bought the same book ages ago. Anyone who wants to borrow it may.

Haha, you mean the B00st Bible?

This is a good opportunity (for a thread jack) to start a MM books thread. I'll do a review of the Prodrive book and dig up the old review of The Unfair Advantage when I get home.

I've read some other tech books in there somewhere but I never finished Engineer to Win and my racecar suspension book is more of a textbook than something you sit down and read.

I have been planning on doing this for too long........ maybe i'll do it this weekend, I have done quite a bit of reading since last year.

i'm fairly certain we made a book thread before.

Ive also got "Sport Compact Bolt-ons Vol. 1"...not to good, just gives a list of stuff you can buy for your car....I do not recommend it.

Roadrace and AutoX Instructive Books and Videos

Not exactly the same topic as here, but worth linking to...

That is a really good book. Really the only "technical book" ive read through twice. You mind if I could borrow it? I havent read it in 6 months and since ive learned a lot since then also ill probably pick up on a few more things...

I have that book, there are a few things incorrect in it from when I was reading it. I belive there is a correction list somewhere on the publishers website, you might want to print it out prior to reading so you are not like WTF while reading.

I just ordered 2 new books over Amazon yesterday,
'Chassis Engineering/Chassis Design, Building & Tuning for High Performance Handling by Herb Adams
and
Mustang Perfrormance Handbook 2 by William Mathis
this one is mostly about 79-94 mustangs but the chassis is the same up to 04 and it has some really good stuff on how to build a strong unibody.
