Google has a new video service up in beta
video.google.com
You upload your video(s) using a small uploader app, they get approved, and anyone can play them through a browswer window using an embedded shockwave/flash player.
Their business model is attracting people to publish content and charge for the content, and taking a chunk of the profit. If you dont charge for your video however, it is free.
At first I thought I hit the jackpot for hosting race vids, but the system shrinks the videos significantly and the quality takes a hit too. Definately still usable and useful, but for serious track videos, it probably wont do. Hopefully when the system goes out of beta it will support full DV resolution.

I don't know. You know what Lao Tzu says about useful things.
Ordinary people think the "Great Tao" is actually useless.
That everyone thinks it is useless, is proof of how great it is.

But seriously, what's Google Base supposed to be for? I mean, I know it's a database thing...but for what? I mean, "database" is a pretty generic term. Or is google just trying to collect as much information about people as possible, in order to more accurately target their ads? (and will offer nearly any service to do that?)
