Crazy SRT-4 - Jeff - 10-24-2005

Can't tell the whole story due to customer protection laws. But its in our body shop. At least a 100 shot (we think) on the stock motor... Tell me an SRT ain't got some ass behind it.

- WRXtranceformed - 10-24-2005

lol!

- Feersty - 10-24-2005

I wonder what hp it was putting down with the nitrous shot in full force?

2+2=4

I still find it hard to believe that that just 100 extra hp would shatter a wheel like that.

Could be as high as 150shot. I just don't know how much I can or should say about the guy and the car. He is from out of state and came in "according to word on the street" saying he has the fastest car around. I've only spoken with him a few times around town, never at my work. The car had a ton of bolt-ons but nothing much else. The NX system was the main thing. Side note- The center of the wheel is actually twisted and the case of the transmission shattered as a result of the wheel breaking off.

- .RJ - 10-24-2005

Sounds like he hit a curb.

I will repost from turbododge

sy2206 Wrote:I have seen stock SRT wheels break like that before, but it's always in accidents. There's no way in hell power alone caused it to break like that, as there's plenty of 500hp SRT's with stock wheels.

TurboOmni08 Wrote:I wasn't there to see it. I don't really know. The damage on the car fits with the wheel just coming off however. Big rubber mark down the side, edge of the fender tore up. I also am not 100% sure on the specs of the car and what he has in it. I have always been under the impression the car is stock less the Nitrous and a few bold ons. Also, the rim has no marks of a curb and the center is actally TWISTED out, the spokes are bent at a slight curve. Hard to see in those pics. The mud on the rim was from it's landing in a field.

Edit- I was actually thinking it might have been caused by MASSIVE and frequent wheel hop.

- Evan - 10-24-2005

he would have shattered an axle before he broke a wheel if it was really from power/torque, not to mention that it would require an extreme amount of grip

Could he have hit a speed bump? or hopped a curb at an angle to not let the rim show it?

what he said. my vote is that or wheel hop.

that's gnarly, i don't think i've ever seen the center part just peace out like that before. what material is that wheel made of?

no! i love fikses!

- REED - 10-24-2005

I saw something similar to that happen to a car

of course it was a WRC WRX and it slid sideways into the mountain side

- BLAIR - 10-24-2005

i dont think there is any way a FWD car with street tires is going to hook good enough to actually break the wheel.. and no way before trans parts

.. he hit something hahaha

- Jeff - 10-24-2005

Well, I tend to agree now that I have reviewed the facts of the matter. Something like a earthy hill at night speed. Something that woudn't scar the rim. The transmission case is broken, I still wonder how all that happened.
