Ouch. You ok?

- lillitnn92 - 10-23-2005

crap...man that's gotta hurt. not so much the crash, but what got crashed. i'm sure you were well protected. sorry man, hope it gets fixed soon.

- ScottyB - 10-23-2005

ugh, it hurts to see that. hopefully you're alright. looks like the damage is superficial and can be fixed.

was that clicking sound a flat or corded tire? and did that lead to what happened....or was it just one of those "shit happens" moments?

- NaptownE36 - 10-23-2005

Dude, that totally sucks! At least yours is at home though... not at some random body shop 3 hours away... Let me know if you need help fixing it up. Crappy weekend all around.

John

Not really sure, I've been chassing that clicking sound all season. Started end of last year. I _think_ it might be a torn torque box now, if so, and it let go mid corner it would explain why my super stunna drift went so bad.

I'm fine, the passenger airbag went off (didn't have the driver side in, thank good). My seats/harnesses did the trick, no part of my body slammed into anything hard. Seats kept me from flopping around and the harness's kept me in said seat. Now that I've been through this, it is even more important that those running fast cars/in the advanced group NEED roll bar/seats/harnesses, it just becomes one of those 'must haves'.

I'm going to price out fixing this mess up, depending on the total I may scrounge up a 99-04 shell, gut it, send it down to piper for a full cage then swap my drivetrain/suspension over to it and ditch this body. Either way, a full cage is going in the car before I got out again. It could have been A LOT worse. With the wet grass I didn't want to cut the wheel to much for fear of flipping.

Jesus. Sorry Chad.

John
??????????? what happened?

edit: NM, read your other post

- CaptainHenreh - 10-23-2005

Jesus, Chad, I'm sorry. But it's awesome that you're OK. Hope that everything works out...should we be on a lookout for a shell?

- WRXtranceformed - 10-23-2005

Wow man, I'm glad you're okay. Sucks about your Stang though =/ I'm sure you'll get it back to 100% soon no matter what it entails =)

- Ginger - 10-23-2005

Wow Chad. Sorry to hear. Hopefully it'll all come back together quickly enough, though.

And just in short order for winter... could be worse.

- Chris - 10-23-2005

oh man sorry to see this Chad. Glad you and John are ok! sucks this is a part of what we do, best of luck fixing it.

- Ryan T - 10-24-2005

I seriously just got finished crying. You had the only mustang that comanded respect from a die-hard camaro fan. Best of luck with the fix and glad to hear your ok.

- Sijray21 - 10-24-2005

i'm soo sorry man Sad

I know that your car was a beast and i'm sorry that this happened. Sad

- Maengelito - 10-24-2005

that sucks man... maybe its time to switch to the miata? haha, can you imagine chad driving a miata?

- JustinG - 10-24-2005

did your rear swing into the wall, or was all the damage caused by running off??? Just glad you got through it without rolling, and no one was riding along to get that airbag in their face.

- Dave - 10-24-2005

looked like rear connected first, then as the rear rebounded away the front hit, hence damage to front and rear but not middle. Makes sense considering the el dorifto action into the slip and slide and the angle of approach toward the rail.

Unk would want to know if Chad saw the guardrail or if he was looking for the track pavement Big Grin. Sorry, I know this sucks but hopefully everybody can learn from this. I fear the day that I go through this, but it is best to know that both of our MMers got away personally unscathed and in such a fashion that it wasn't a total loss.

Your assestment is correct. Rear hit the guard rail, spun me around and nailed the front. I never saw it coming, I was still looking for pavement and driving upuntil the end.
