Katherine Legge to get F1 Test - G.Irish - 10-18-2005
Unlike Danica Patrick's offer from Honda to run a few laps at the USGP this looks like Legge will get a full on test with Squadra Toro Rosso (the new Red Bull team formerly known as Minardi).
Even though there are several quick drivers waiting in the wings that would love the test role Legge has an outside chance of getting it. Still, I'd prefer she got some more wheel-to-wheel experience before taking a F1 test role.

I believe she might be the real thing unlike Sarah and Danica. Besides F1 could use some good publicity.

Yes, Danica is a very skilled race car driver, however the publicity she has gained is largely not due to her success as a race car driver in my humble opinion.

Yeah Danica never won an Atlantics race and Katherine has won three in her first season so I'd have to say that Katherine holds more promise at this point. Danica is good no doubt but if I had to choose between the two today I would choose Legge.

Well Danica never crashed as much either. Legge has taken some wins, but at the cost of crashing out a competitor on at least 2 occasions.

Well that can go one of two ways. A popular saying in racing is, "You can teach a fast guy to slow down but you can't teach a slow guy to go fast." If Legge gets a little bit better judgement she'll be all right. Unfortunately I don't think that will come from getting a F1 test role. Maybe she could get it in GP2 though.
The other possibility is that she could turn into a female Takuma Sato...
