Slowly stumbling into an SM.... - Evan - 09-22-2005

Im home from work this week, so I decided to get some much needed progress on my SM build.

First up, and most importantly, was the suspension.
The car got the SM suspension, which consists of bilstein shocks, ground control coilovers, and Eibach swaybars.
I also installed new blueprinted hubs, tie rod ends, and lower balljoints
its almost a shame to cover up those shiny new hubs with brake rotors

Then came the gutting
well, most of the gutting anyway. The radio is staying in for now, and Im keeping the carpet over the trans tunnel because it gets unbearably hot (enough to burn)
and you can see my stars and strips Sparco if you havent seen it yet

did a bunch of other little stuff, and got some used RA1s mounted today on my other set of ATS

the car is going in for an alignment tomorrow, and to Piper Motorsports for a cage, window net, kill switch, etc on Oct 10.
I may just make the Oct Nasa race! Smile

in SM camber cant be higher than 2.0 in front and 2.5 in the rear

I will probably go 2.0 in both front and rear with 0 toe all around and maxed out caster (which last time I got an alignment wasnt that much... :? )

- Dave - 09-23-2005

excellent. When does the turbo go on?

- Chris - 09-23-2005

very awesome Evan... glad to see you're making the next step. I hope to follow at some point!

- John - 09-23-2005

So when does your last name go on the car? Wink

- .RJ - 09-23-2005

We could have it printed on rainbow vinyl

- Feersty - 09-23-2005

Wink we get him up in the top 5... then we make sure he has plenty of pretty freshly painted bump draftable body pannels... push him to the front with cheater ponies and me in the tech shed... then we use the knee pads Smile

- GQROB - 09-23-2005

I may head out to spectate if ya race in October.

Rob

- Evan - 09-23-2005

The car is aligned (only cost $165... ) and fixed an oil leak this morning.
Ordered a different exhaust today (more power than the mazdaspeed exhaust that I have) along with some other stuff

car is ready for summit, Ill have 1 day to get the feel of the car in SM-ish trim before I race in ocktober Smile
Hopefully Ill be able to turn 1:34s or even 1:33s

- Feersty - 09-23-2005

NO seriously, how would you go about getting sponsors? Know the right people?

- Andy - 09-23-2005

you go out to the track, you get noticed, you win, and you ask for money. i dont know if thats actually how it goes, but if i were giving someone money to run my logo, thats what i would want.
