Daytona Paint Question- PLEASE VIEW AND VOTE - Jeff - 09-21-2005

hey guys, I split this from the other post so I could get quality answers fast. I've been sorta beating around the bush on the color so here it is -

This was what it was back in 03 on the (ugly) PT dream, now it is called "Go Mango" on the 05' Dodge Charger Daytona, and Ram Daytona. Same color, different name.

So that having been said, I need to decide something about painting the body of the car. In 1989 the car came as a 2-tone with the main color and an argent bodykit and wing. As shown here-

This was the way my car was colored. In 90 they did away with the 2-tone on the bodykit but left the wing, to define the wing barers as Shelbys.

Should I paint my car back like it was in the 89 style using a slightly darker then argent paint, or should I paint it like a 90 and use argent (or even something darker) on the wing-top?

on an older car like yours i think the 2 tone works, especially with the angular nature of the body contours. either way it will look good!

I'd do a two tone, but break the paint at that body line that runs just below the windows, and just about the door panels. That runs all the way down the car, so paint the top of the car, and down to that line one color, other color rest of the way down the sides..it'd look hawt

I went for one color. I don't like the color of that PT though.

if white isnt an option (two tone isnt white) i'll go for the orange... i'm really not too excited by any of the options though.

2-tone all the way!

Dave (and others) how dark of a gray? The OEM is really light argent. I was thinking more of a gunmetal

gunmetal silver/grayish would look good.

FLAT BLACK, stick to your roots, but some flat black hemi cuda stripes on that bitch

gunmetal with a metallic flake would look hot against the burnt orange.

- ViPER1313 - 09-22-2005

I personally think it would look better all one color :dunno:

i kinda like the 2-tone my self, i think it has the retro-classic look with an older car such as that
