you shouldn't need to spend 5k unless you want a newer gsx-r, the older one's you can probably get for $4500 or less even. Wait till the winter

co-worker has an '05 he's realizing he shouldn't have bought. 1500 miles, properly broken in (I witnessed him being rather anal about it), some yoshimura tri-oval exhaust thing, a custom rear fender, other than that it's stock and like new. Would take $7000, which is over what you're looking for, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
