2nd Kart race complete - GQROB - 07-26-2005
I ran another race at Summit Point this past weekend. I managed to knock another two seconds off of my lap times (1:38's) and finished 8th (17 karts). I will need to drop another 3-4 seconds off of my time in order to podium. With the proper gearing and more seat time I will get there.

It is fun and the speed sensation is a little different compared to driving my car there. I should be running 1:34's which isn't bad for a 15 hp kart. Heck, if ya think that is fast for a kart, the unlimited Super Karts run lap times as low as 1:13.

1:13's?!? That's crazy... I know Expert Class Superbike riders that couldn't touch tose times with a ten foot pole!

The record at Summit Point for an Unlimited Kart is 1:13. They usually run 1:15 - 1:16.

I might run the Subaru in the October NASA HPDE. I miss driving it on track and miss the NASA crowd.
I also might be buying a new car this Fall although I will keep my 2.5RS. I am looking at a WRX Wagon, but want a Saab 9-2x(Saabaru). Unfortunately ALL 9-2x Aero's are sold.
I am happy with how I did. My goal was to complete the 45 minute race mid pack running 1:38's, which I did

once i get a truck I plan on picking up a kart. I want to do sprint track stuff though, no big tracks for me.
