Hey, im wondering as to how much you guys would offer for a 97 DX HB with 160k miles. Car runs fine. Only cosmetic damage is one dent on a side door and some scratches on the side of the bumper.
This car was posted on CL this morning.
Im curious as to how much you guys would offer? He said 2700 OBO, and the KBB is about $1000 more than that, altho I know how much I and others hate KBB as a value estimator.
How much would you offer?
Edit: This is assuming the car is as he says. Carfax is clean

Depends on if the sellers is of age...one case of beer is worth alot when you can't buy it yourself.

2700 obo and that is 1k below kbb? not a bad deal at all... lowball though, it doesn't hurt. start at 2k, work your way up. i don't think 2700 is a bad price.

I got him to 2500 committed, so its up to me to go take a look at the car and go from there. Its kinda far (college park), so i think im gonna take a route my dad suggested and have it checked out by a shop in MD. Unless anybody feels like taking the ride out w/me (I would drive obviously)
Edit: KBB value is 3400, so, 2500 is about 1k less. We'll see though, I need to take a look at it in person

Well unfortunately when I go kind of depends on him. It also depends on if I have someone who's been there before. If I go myself do what I said above I would have to take a greater part of the day off because you cant really do that at night.
