Some days..... - .RJ - 06-16-2005

I just suck at cars.

Fucking hondas. Had the timing belt done in just over an hour except uh... the cam timing was all fucked up *waits for mike to chime in about how I suck at timing belts*

Wouldnt even start. I was checking everything... the new cap/rotor/wires, the main relay, fuel, etc... well you need fuel, spark, and squish(face) to start an engine, right? Well I figured out I had fuel and I had spark. So I didnt have compression... sure enough, it blew 50psi on the gauge. Motherfucker. The cams were timed up, but the crank got thrown way off when I tensioned it. So, everything back apart, belt back on the way it should be in about 40 minutes and its fired up.

*waits for chan and chad to post about how 'real cars' dont have timing belts* Wink

So at least its done... new belt, tensioner/bolt/spring, water pump, fuel filter, distributor cap/rotor, plug wires and my sparco steering wheel Smile Big  to chris for coming over and helping me out!

hehe didn't we have the same issue with my car? we actually ended up installing the belt twice? Tongue

- .RJ - 06-16-2005

Yeah..... except your shit was off one tooth and sort of ran. I managed to get mine about 6-7 teeth off at the crank somehow, I still have no idea what happened - it was lined up before I tensioned the belt (coathanger). I'm just glad all my valves are in one piece.

- BLINGMW - 06-16-2005

real cars don't have timing belts squishface

(but yeah, glad your valves didn't pay the price for your inadequate skills)

I guess your engines are not interferance engines, hu? If I were to do that with my car I would destroy all the valves (yes all 32 of them) and the pistons probably.

Its most definately an interference engine. I just got lucky.

Power steering is out, lines are looped w/ a breather and reservoir Smile
