Just got back from the dyno @ MachV in Sterling - WRXtranceformed - 06-11-2005 I'll post the graphs when they get emailed to me hopefully later today. Honestly I wasn't expecting the greatest numbers, and the runs I did met my expectations. Best run was 199 awhp/196torque. That's around 250 hp at the crank =/ Also did an a/f analysis and after 5000 rpms I ran really rich. I'll post the graphs when I get them emailed to me hopefully later today. Basically my car is running like a stock Legacy GT with slightly less torque. I'm glad I did this as a baseline so I have something to compare to after I jump to stage 4 in a month or so, but I'm definitely not impressed with this off-the-shelf engine management. Apparently it runs better on some cars then others, so mine must not be happy with it. With a custom tune and the mods I have planned, I'm hoping to add 100 to both of those numbers  Again, graphs to follow when I get them. - Ginger - 06-11-2005 Another 100? Wow, that's a lot. What does Stage 4 consist of? Decent numbers right now, anyways. - Sijray21 - 06-11-2005 good numbers  i could only dream of near 200whp and awd... - WRXtranceformed - 06-11-2005 Thanks guys, I'm a little disappointed though. According to Cobb Tuning, I should be around 220/220. UTEC Stage 4 will consist of in addition to what I have so far: ~ Uppipe ~ STI "pinks" or larger injectors (I may modify my stockers to save some cash) ~ Walbro fuel pump to be safe ~ Perrin fuel rails (maybe) ~ Basically any turbo I want, probably will be an IHI VF34 or VF22 ~ FMIC or a huge TMIC, depending on if I feel like losing my foglights or if I need to modify the front bumper ~ UTEC piggyback engine management... gonna sell this Accessport most likely. UTEC will allow me to get a custom tune. I could probably shoot for a number higher than 300awhp, but that should be all the power I want. - Dave - 06-11-2005 wow, thats gonna cost you a fortune I bet. I dynoed the Supra last weekend and ended up with 170hp and 160 torque. Did it for the same reason, so that I have a baseline. - WRXtranceformed - 06-12-2005 ![]() Notice how after 5,000 rpms the a/f drops down really rich below 11.5? Appaerntly that's where I'm losing a bunch of power. - KPWSerpiente - 06-12-2005 couple hundred more and you'll be there baby. Seriously, not half bad. Did you see my boy Andre in the black GSX with the 2.4 liter engine and larger than large turbo dyno? I would have been out there to see for myself if I had a running vehicle. -T - WRXtranceformed - 06-12-2005 Nah, I had the 9 o'clock slot and left right after so I could be lazy the rest of the day before the Armin show. - .RJ - 06-12-2005 what kind of dyno is this? If its a mustang dyno... the numbers are probably right on target. - WRXtranceformed - 06-12-2005 Dynojet - ScottyB - 06-14-2005 nice numbers Lee. when Cobb says they see 220/220, is that advertising speak, or are those documented numbers put up by customer's cars? - WRXtranceformed - 06-14-2005 Both I think Scotty. I've seen other people's dyno sheets with the Cobb Stage 2 setup pushing around 220/220, but they also usually have a few extra mods outside of the standard map (headers, uppipe, IC hoses, etc). Since the AccessPort uses off-the-shelf maps, it works better on some cars than others. This is pretty much hard proof that a custom dyno / road tune is >>>>>> than an off the shelf one. I'm running way leaner on the bottom end and way richer on the top end than I would like. - mpg9999 - 06-14-2005 Dynojet tailpipe wideband=crap |
