RallyX this weekend - Evan - 03-15-2004 There is a RallyX this weekend in Orange, VA (not too far from JMU) Im thinking of going to either run or watch. Anyone interested in driving or watching? ps- this is the one kind of racing where your cheapass allseason tires actually do well at! - KPWSerpiente - 03-15-2004 Explain more. Isn't RallyX like AutoX but on grass? How much will it cost to enter, what days times are we talking about. I'm down to drive in it if you can answer all of those questions. -T - Mike - 03-15-2004 Depending on how far it is I'd be willing to go watch. edit: 45 miles on 33E followed by 12 miles north. I'm still not sure I wanna drive that far just to spectate. If I get my muffler on I'll probably be more willing. Will let ya know. - mrbaggio - 03-15-2004 Rallyx is more like autox on dirt. If there is grass on the course I cant imagine it will stay there long. I think its $40 to run. I could be wrong there. I would be willing to watch (depending on school work) I would be willing to run (depending on cash flow) ps i have my "suck at autox" all seasons on  -Justin - Maengelito - 03-15-2004 well, dont wanna take the sti out cuz i'm a puss, and i'm probably not gonna take the integra out cuz i already put her azenis on and i need new gaskets for the valve cover. i may go out and spectate though. orange is only about 30-40 min from c'ville, but i hate driving through louisa county cuz i've gotten 2 tickets there :x - Mike - 03-15-2004 yeah, it's po-po heaven. - DierwulfBL - 03-15-2004 heeellllllz yes. I'll be in fluvanna county this upcoming weekend and orange is only like 20 minutes north of us. Watch out for an old subaru gl hatch, I'm gonna see if my friend will lend me his POS to rally out there :-D if not ill just be working the paintball field in fluvanna like normal, any website on the info, like directions etc.? - Beej - 03-15-2004 Does anyone have any relatively soft 2.5 or 2.25ID springs? - BLINGMW - 03-15-2004 sure, lots of 'em! We have a whole upstairs full of old springs, all kinds of lengths and rates. - Evan - 03-15-2004 www.dcrally.com is the DC region scca rally webpage. here is all the event and registration info http://www.dcrally.com/rallycross/2004oaklandacres1.htm $40, 4+ runs on a very nice rallyX course. Most rallyXes are just in a big field, but this is a groomed and maintained purpose built rallyx track. - Mike - 03-15-2004 Bill 84 318i Wrote:Does anyone have any relatively soft 2.5 or 2.25ID springs? I've got a pair of 250s and a pair of 300s (2.5ID) lying around. Let me know if you wanna borrow them. - KPWSerpiente - 03-15-2004 Uh, on second thought 40 bucks is out of my price range right now. If anyone is rolling out from JMU I'll roll out as well to spectate, but I don't have scrilla like that on me. -T - mrbaggio - 03-15-2004 Evan Wrote:$40, 4+ runs on a very nice rallyX course. Trees to hit off course? How nasty is it on the car? -Justin - Evan - 03-16-2004 mrbaggio Wrote:now you have me really interested. Tell me more about the course.Dont bring a showcar. It isnt that hard on the car, but there may be a scratch or 2. There are some immovable objects close to the course, but shouldnt be a problem if you drive within your limits. Ultimately, its not as safe as autox. - mrbaggio - 03-16-2004 Sign up by friday and it is $40 or $50 at the event. Whos going/signed up? Im pretty sure I will be sending in my money today. - KPWSerpiente - 03-16-2004 I will got to spectate. Who else is leaving out of JMU so we can coordinate, y0!. -T - Mike - 03-16-2004 I'll go to take pics, wanna gimme a ride Justin? - mrbaggio - 03-16-2004 Sure Mike... Can you bring the helmets. The woman wants to come along too so I still have one seat open if anyone wants to go. The event is about an 1 and a half from JMU (according to map quest) so we will have to leave pretty early. Ps I sent my money in already
- Mike - 03-16-2004 woot! if my new muffler kicks ass i'll drive myself. i'll let ya know. - ScottyB - 03-16-2004 i still got those helmets in my back seat mike, lemme know when you want em |
