sparco speeds - KPWSerpiente - 04-30-2005 Tell me what you think of them. I sat in them at OG Racing and they felt fine. Who are they meant for? Will I be laughed at if I took them to the strip and the occasional autox? -T - BLINGMW - 05-01-2005 wow, I hope not, those same people would certianly laugh at me too! Look like nice seats to me, I somehow didn't see them in my search. :? - Evan - 05-01-2005 pretty standard fare tube frame seat. If it fits you and your budget, then its a good seat to pick up. A couple things to keep in mind however, is that a tube frame seat is not as safe as a fiberglass seat, and is usually not as comfortable. - KPWSerpiente - 05-01-2005 Can you go into detail on the safety Evan? Comfort doesn't bother me as I'll probably only bolt them in on track days. -T - Evan - 05-01-2005 a fiberglass seat is made to flex to spread the forces of an impact over a distance and time. (ie "absorb" some of the force), instead of transferring it directly to the driver like an aluminum or tube frame seat does. Overall I dont think its a huge deal, your primary crush zones will always be the outside of the car anyway, I used a tube frame forza for a few months, and its my passenger seat now. To me, the comfort of the fiberglass seat was the biggest improvement. - BLINGMW - 05-02-2005 saw one of those "speeds" this weekend, you must be a stick! I would never fit on one of those  - KPWSerpiente - 05-02-2005 Well to be honest...I'm getting pretty fat. I don't know how much longer I'll be able to fit into any racing seat unless I stop hitting the mcdonalds. -T - white_2kgt - 05-02-2005 KPWSerpiente Wrote:Well to be honest...I'm getting pretty fat. They have seats for ALL sizes! --chad - Ginger - 05-02-2005 IIRC, the Speeds don't have a hole for a sub-belt. |
