Car show info... - Big E - 04-19-2005

Don't know if this will matter, but there is a spring football game going on this Saturday, 4/23 at Bridgeforth Stadium at 1pm. I don't know how many people will show up, but being 1-AA national champs, there might be a crowd.

My point is that the Hillside parking lot will probably have some people parking in it, usually a lot of people park for football in this lot. I already talked to Jack and he said they were going to rope off a section for the car show, but just a heads up, and it probably wouldn't hurt to get there early to make sure the space is being reserved.

I guess I should have put it in the events section.

put up signs and get a towing company involved or call the jmu parking office and see what our options are

- Chris - 04-19-2005

its already done. our portion of the lot will be roped off friday afternoon, signs will be up, and parking will contact the owners of cars left in our space.

I must say, I'm getting EXCITED about the car show! Hopefully I'll be bringing some bling from up here with me on Saturday. Too bad the 17x9s didn't fit on my car Sad Hope to meet some of the new members while I'm there!

Jacks? Who needs jacks!

That's a pretty good idea really. Does anyone have (or have access to) those dollies that go under the wheels so that you can scoot cars around in a garage?

Sure there's a liability issue there, but *someone* who gets up really early might just go move some cars around w/o the clubs involvement. Ya know, for fun. And because anyone that drives a truck is always looking for a reason to "use" it.

fwiw, a good number of folks from dcsportbikes.net are planning on coming.

Trust me, you can do it w/ jacks. We've moved more than a few on Sunday morning for Autocrosses. Once we moved a van w/ a dude SLEEPING inside, he just wouldn't wake up! (It was the night after a concert at FedEx) ha.

My roommate works in the sports media relations office. He said most of our players are injured and they probably will only be able to take 20 snaps at most. I don't think most people know about the practice game anyway.

I wish we could point to a car if it is in our lot and Parking Services could move it out of our way with a tow truck or what have you.

- Mike - 04-21-2005

most of the players are injured? wtf? is that common that players get hurt in the offseason?

- Evan - 04-21-2005

every starting football player on the team is injured during the season. The offseason is the time to recover

- Mike - 04-21-2005

well i know it is resting time, but i wouldn't think they're all injured.

it's posted on the scoreboard that the game is tomorrow...

AB is still recovering, Maurice fenner had his shoulder operated on in the off season, Clint Kent i think broke his finger. I know of those three just because they live above a friend of mine.

Currently 54 degrees Fahrenheit at 7:43 AM. Damn its chilly.
