The Geeser was stolen - G.Irish - 03-06-2004

I've been Alaska since Feb 23rd and in that time cell phone service has been spotty. Today I set my phone on roaming and called my mom to see how things were going. She says "Let me preface this with 'shit happens'" She told the Geeser was gone. Happened Wednesday before last. I had parked it across the street from my house before I left for Alaska. This time I forgot to leave the key with my parents so they could park it in a gated storage space I've rented. Supposedly insurance will cover what I owe on the car minus deductible. I'm pretty sure with a few hours the engine was snatched and the body chopped up so I know the police aren't gonna find it.

Right now I kinda don't know what to feel. On the surface of it, the car is simply a material thing and losing material things sucks a bit but is nothing compared to flesh and blood. On the other hand I have a huge number of memories with that car and it pains me to have it go with nary a goodbye... Cry

What to do now? Find another racecar. Its gonna kind of be a pain in the ass because I don't have the money in pocket to purchase outright right this minute and I don't particularly want to wait until half of the season is over to save up the money. There is a prebuilt SSB GS-R that I know of that I'm inquiring about but other than that I'm in the woods again. I should be able to find another car in time for the season opener but the problem I have is that I'm on the road so much that it is going to be much more difficult to sniff out leads. I guess we'll see.

fucking hell, i drive by it every damn day... and for some reason i noticed it was gone but i thought they moved it from where you normally parked it. got a vin? cause i'll go marching around!

PS- i love pack'n heat in VA... plus it makes guilty people nervous!

- Feersty - 03-06-2004

What day was it stolen? Where are you living now?

- Mike - 03-06-2004

Fucking fuck. I'm really sorry to hear this man Sad First MM car to be stolen... You think the thieves even bothered to take a look at the odometer? Christ, now I'm pissed off. I wish you the best, and like your Mom said "shit happens" but at least you've only lost a material possession like a car. It can be replaced and hopefully you'll be able to do so sooner rather than later.

god damn nova!

- Ryan T - 03-06-2004

Damn man, that really sucks. Cry I'm Sorry.

- Team - 03-06-2004

Sorry to hear man, but if theres anything we can do just let us know... good luck with a new find

- G.Irish - 03-06-2004

I don't have the VIN on me but I'll see if I can get it from my mom. I'm sure they've already snatched the engine, but I'm also sure it is some local fools that did it so maybe it is still in the area. Still, I doub't seriously that the cops will catch these fuckers. The most I can hope for is that they find the shell.

- Evan - 03-07-2004

ugh. holy shit.

Ryan just told me this weekend. I couldnt f-ing believe it.

but wtf is up with insurance, only paying for what you owe?!!!!!
Isnt the car almost paid off anyway?!
those fuckers have to pay the book value on the car, which should be around $4k

My plan was to take the next 2 or 3 months and pay off the car but I actually owed a little more than book value so I'm not out of much money (deductible). Really, had I paid the car off I would've been SOL because I certainly would not have kept insurance on it after it was paid off.

In the future I'll be looking into racecar insurance...

- Dave - 03-07-2004

fucking A. SO sorry to hear it man. Seriously, that car had loads of memories in it, so the sentimental loss is probably the worst part about this. Keep us updated on what you're thinking man, and as you know, MM has your back on anything you need.

- Chris - 03-08-2004

Hey G,
I can't believe that shit...RJ told us this weekend and it really pissed us off. At least you hadn't put in the new race equipment. Let us know what we can do.

- BLINGMW - 03-08-2004

?!
Are you sure? maybe you just lost it. Sad

I'm crying right now like this kid... I'm so sorry Gerald.

- KPWSerpiente - 03-08-2004

My condolences.

Car theft in NoVa is out of hand. I'm actually scared everytime I park it in front of the house, even though no one seems to be stealing eclipses right now.

If you live in NoVa and don't own a garage, you don't own a honda/acura.
^From honda tech.com, sad but true.

If only I had left that bomb under the driver's seat...

What is kinda stupid about this situation is that if the police wanted to catch these fools all they'd have to do is set a few bait cars and follow back to their hideouts. I mean damn, gimme a desert eagle and some night vision goggles and I could solve the problem pretty damned quickly...

- Kaan - 03-08-2004

no one wants desert Es anymore... they are heavy and inacurate... but i have a .44 if you really want one!

"get rid of that nickel plated sissy pistol and get yourself a GLOCK!"

What's that military 50 caliber rifle? Yeah, I'll need one of those. And some snacks to eat while I wait.
