#23 Starts a bike racing team... - G.Irish - 03-03-2004 http://www.superbikeplanet.com/image/d200/2004/tuesday/ Apparently His Airness is starting an AMA bike team. From the looks of it I'd say supersport. There are no details right now but if nothing else it should draw a lot more interest to bike racing in the USA. - Evan - 03-03-2004 hock: didnt see this one coming. should bring a lot of good attention to bike racing. - REED - 03-03-2004 lets just hope his doesnt turn out like his baseball career... - ScottyB - 03-03-2004 i wish i could remember where i read about this, but mj is actually supposed to be very involved with the sportbike community. i have a feeling this might turn out to be pretty good. - G.Irish - 03-03-2004 Well I don't know if he plans to be a racer or just a team owner. If he plans to race then he'd better be prepared for a rude awakening. As an owner I think in time he could put together a damned good privateer team. That's not to say I think he is a guru in the world of sportbike racing but he is among the world's best as a competitor and I'm sure with his attitude he can make something happen. - Kaan - 03-03-2004 He does his research. Even with the Wiz... its not like he didnt make a mark all over again... or make money. Could he be the Gibbs of AMA? I guess we'll find out. Air Jordan Riding boots by NIKE! - G.Irish - 03-03-2004 Kaan Wrote:He does his research. Even with the Wiz... its not like he didnt make a mark all over again... or make money. Sign me up, as long as its not ridiculously priced like his basketball shoes... - Feersty - 03-03-2004 I couldnt definitely see it going into riding clothes. - FrreeeBird - 03-04-2004 G.Irish Wrote:Well I don't know if he plans to be a racer or just a team owner. I will bet my left testicle he will not be racing. - Kaan - 03-04-2004 ok but if he gets his ass on a bike... brians mom gets to bite it off! - G.Irish - 03-05-2004 Freeebird Wrote:I will bet my left testicle he will not be racing. For now your testicle is safe: http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2004/Mar/040303mj0.htm Man I need to start reading up more on the bike racing world. Time for that Road Racer X subscription! - G.Irish - 03-05-2004 Well I was curious so I decided to check the results for the Air Jordan (Tarmac Jordan? Asphalt Jordan?) team. Mmm, can you say, blown away? Qualified 43rd out of 55, 10 seconds off the leaders. Don't know what happened there but it ain't pretty. Btw, looks like they're racing a Yamaha R6. Man I wish I had Speedvision on the road Since I'm in Alaska maybe I'll go dogsledding instead...

Most pro riders weigh between 135-155lbs and aren't very tall, last time I checked Jordan was not only tall but well over 200lbs. - Chris - 03-05-2004 FrreeeBird Wrote:Most pro riders weigh between 135-155lbs and aren't very tall, last time I checked Jordan was not only tall but well over 200lbs. Hell yeah! I fit that description perfectly, time to look for a sponsor... oh wait, I've never driven a bike before Karting on the other hand...
