I got a Bike - white_2kgt - 04-01-2005

Actually the wife and I got bikes Smile. Nothing to fancy, they are not mountain bikes. They are Treck 7300's. They call it a Hybrid, mainly for paved roads, but not some fruity road bike. We've got a few 5-10 miles trails near our house so we decided this would be a good way to work out together. I hate going to a gym and this allows us to do something together.

Here are some more pics,

Lets hope so. We were stuck between this and a Giant Sedona, the trek was a little more $$ but I think it was worth it. The wife rod the Giant like 3 times while I tried different bikes. Once I decided I like the Trek better I had the guy get her one in her size and made her ride it, she was like, yea, I like this one better  and she wanted to goto walmart and get Huffys!

a good portion of the "mainstream" bikes you see in your local bike shop are made by giant. unless it is relatively high-end or specifically says it is made in the us or something along those lines, it probably is. what're you paying for? a name. giant bikes are usually cheaper for equal components. i ride a gary fisher fwiw, made in the us of a Smile

Well FWIW, Trek OWNS Gary Fisher (no really, they actually own, them).

RiceJ. I would have gotten a mountain bike but I couldn't see spending $800 on a bike that I was probably never going to take off road...

I got mine for $500 used that had been ridden only a handful of times - didnt even have any scratches on the frame or dirt in the pedals Smile

Well that's great. But it would be a PITA for me to ride a true mountain bike on the trails we are going to ride on.

they didn't used to Smile

don't listen to rice, a hybrid is a great bike for what you're looking to do.

I love my trek 8000. I have had it for about 7 years and I couldn't be happier with it.

Trek is in house.... and the amount of money pouring through the gates with the Lance Wave is nothing short of spectacular.

Though Giant is the largest frame maker in the world (and the only company that draws their own tubes).

All that said these super production frames are all well and good, it's awsome that you can buy a top-tier race, fiber frame for next to nothing... but, man, my Serotta's got soul.

Nice bike Chad & Christina, I think it's awesome for your purposes. It's great that you two have a relationship that allows for things like that! The rest of us should be so lucky!

Enjoy the trails!
