I got a Bike - white_2kgt - 04-01-2005 ![]() Actually the wife and I got bikes . Nothing to fancy, they are not mountain bikes. They are Treck 7300's. They call it a Hybrid, mainly for paved roads, but not some fruity road bike. We've got a few 5-10 miles trails near our house so we decided this would be a good way to work out together. I hate going to a gym and this allows us to do something together. Here are some more pics, http://www.2kgt.com/gallery/bikes --chad - ScottyB - 04-01-2005 nice, treks are getting better and better these days - Mike - 04-01-2005 ScottyB Wrote:nice, treks are getting better and better these days huh? most, if not all bikes under $1000 at your typical shop are made by the same company ![]() regardless, enjoy chad

We were stuck between this and a Giant Sedona, the trek was a little more $$ but I think it was worth it. The wife rod the Giant like 3 times while I tried different bikes. Once I decided I like the Trek better I had the guy get her one in her size and made her ride it, she was like, yea, I like this one better  and she wanted to goto walmart and get Huffys! --chad - PDenbigh - 04-01-2005 Mike Wrote:ScottyB Wrote:nice, treks are getting better and better these days What are you talking about mikey ? - .RJ - 04-01-2005 I love my trek 8000 ![]() Its a real mtn bike, not some fruity hybrid bike
- Mike - 04-01-2005 PDenbigh Wrote:Mike Wrote:ScottyB Wrote:nice, treks are getting better and better these days a good portion of the "mainstream" bikes you see in your local bike shop are made by giant. unless it is relatively high-end or specifically says it is made in the us or something along those lines, it probably is. what're you paying for? a name. giant bikes are usually cheaper for equal components. i ride a gary fisher fwiw, made in the us of a

RiceJ. I would have gotten a mountain bike but I couldn't see spending $800 on a bike that I was probably never going to take off road... --chad - .RJ - 04-01-2005 I got mine for $500 used that had been ridden only a handful of times - didnt even have any scratches on the frame or dirt in the pedals ![]() w00t! - Feersty - 04-01-2005 :?: Chad, I thought you were talking about a motorcycle. - white_2kgt - 04-01-2005 .RJ Wrote:I got mine for $500 used that had been ridden only a handful of times - didnt even have any scratches on the frame or dirt in the pedals Well that's great. But it would be a PITA for me to ride a true mountain bike on the trails we are going to ride on. --chad - .RJ - 04-01-2005 hybrid bike is probably better for your needs but I can still give you shit about it
- Mike - 04-01-2005 white_2kgt Wrote:Mike Wrote:PDenbigh Wrote:Mike Wrote:ScottyB Wrote:nice, treks are getting better and better these days they didn't used to ![]() don't listen to rice, a hybrid is a great bike for what you're looking to do. - Nick325is - 04-02-2005 I love my trek 8000. I have had it for about 7 years and I couldn't be happier with it. Nick - Ginger - 04-02-2005 Trek is in house.... and the amount of money pouring through the gates with the Lance Wave is nothing short of spectacular. Though Giant is the largest frame maker in the world (and the only company that draws their own tubes). All that said these super production frames are all well and good, it's awsome that you can buy a top-tier race, fiber frame for next to nothing... but, man, my Serotta's got soul. - PDenbigh - 04-02-2005 Nice bike Chad & Christina, I think it's awesome for your purposes. It's great that you two have a relationship that allows for things like that! The rest of us should be so lucky! Enjoy the trails! - Evan - 04-02-2005 .RJ Wrote:I love my trek 8000 - JackoliciousLegs - 04-02-2005 i really thought you got a motorcycle
- .RJ - 04-02-2005 Get dirty!
