Thanks to VDOT, time for a new motor. - Mike - 04-01-2005

Took a road I normally don't take on the way to work today... Bad idea. Hit what looked to be a tiny puddle on the edge of the road, turned out to be about 8 inches deep... Water + engine = bad news. This has happened before, but in the past just some wires got wet so I'd just let it dry a little and it'd start back up fine. Not today. Not wanting to risk any damage I pulled the plug wires... Water galore. It's probably dead and I probably won't see the track this year (or get a nice new car) thanks to VDOTs amazing job at keeping our roads decent, but at least I'll have VTEC. Yay for driving a shitty old blazer all summer. :x

You might be okay mike. This happened to my buddies 525i. We hit a puddle and water got all in the spark plug holes. We vaccumed all the water out and let things dry and everything was fine.
Was your air filter wet?

Nick

D'oh, sorry to hear that Mike.

i haven't talked to insurance yet, but i'm pretty sure they'll only cover the original motor. that may not be so bad though, that's probably at least a grand or two including shop labor, right? i dunno... either way, vtec is the plan.

This is great news Mike. You got insurance to help pay for a motor swap. You lucky bastard
Noyan USA imports JDM motors and they're based in Manassa so you save on shipping.
