rotary swap - REED - 03-03-2004 the thread about swapping a v8 into a RX-7 got me thinking, what about awaping a 13b into a non-mazda, like a 240sx, or a civic hatchback, i mean i cant imagine how quick a crx with a 13b would be, just curious if it is possible or if anyone has tried it... People have swapped rotaries into Spitfires and kit cars but I haven't heard of it for anything relatively modern. For the TT 13B I can bet that it'd be too much hassle to be worth it (hell, its a hassle to put one in an FD!) and for any of the other rotaries there just isn't enough power for it to be worth it imo. Maybe swapping the renesis into a Miata would be cool though. For the Grassroots Motorsports $2000 challenge someone swapped a Mustang 5.0L into a Miata so I can't imagine the Renesis would be any more difficult. Re: rotary swap - .RJ - 03-03-2004 G.Irish Wrote:I can't imagine the Renesis would be any more difficult. It is a bit tougher - the eccenric (crank) shaft on the rotary sits much higher, in the center of the motor as opposed to the bottom of the motor on a piston engine. It can fit - but it takes some massaging of the firewall and transmission tunnel, and some custom fabrication. Might as well use a 1.6L miata and add boost
