Any fast cars up here? - rotorsownyou7 - 03-31-2005

My best friend and I both got accepted to JMU. Just wondering what kind of cars are up there. Anything pretty fast? I don't see much action around where I am.

Just checked that out, couple STI's and a couple Supra's. What is probably the fastest cars though? Just wondering.

There's a guy with a Ecipse GS-T with 330 whp on old turbo setup, who knows what he's putting down now. There's also a Mustang w/ a soon to be swapped Cobra engine and a Z32 and STI. We also have an FD guy too, I think he laid down 230 whp this past winter on a mostly stock motor.
Most of the guys here are road race/auto-x so huge whps aren't too prevalent.

My car is pretty quick, but is going to be much more of a beast after a turbo / staged upgrade before the summertime

And yeah, Travis' Eclipse is pretty ridiculous. I'd like to be at the next dyno session for that car -_-

yeah man, you should show them how it's really done. nothin says "bad mothaf****" like stuntin feersty style in front of the buick in a parking lot  j/k i love those pictures.

welcome rotorsownyou7! you're in good company, we have 7's of every generation in MM!

to answer your question though....there are quite a few fast cars at JMU. around town you'll see 911 GT3's, supras, vipers, c5s and c6s, STi's, and EVOs.

as for our club, we have a few damn quick machines (i'll let them introduce themselves), but most of our members dedicate their modifications to things that are necessary for driving on the track, like brakes, safety equipment, and suspension.

Oh, ok. Just wondering, I try to do a little racing sometimes, just wondering if some other people put down some good numbers.

All that power is useless if they cant drive.... Wink I rolled many M3's, vettes and p-cars in my 200hp "civic" last year.

- rotorsownyou7 - 03-31-2005

Well I can't drive, damn autos are tough.

Rotors do not own me. Glad you got accepted into Madison.

I'm not in a great mood right now and your post doesn't even make sense. Speed is relative. I don't consider your car fast in terms of straight line acceleration. You'll have to decide for yourself what is.

Ah, what? I just asked if there were any fast cars. How does that not make sense?

I'm sorry. Let me try and make it simple.

Fast is an adjective used to describe the speed or pace of something. Speed is relative. What is fast to me, may not be fast to you.

And then of course there is the question of whether or not you actually mean the top speed a vehicle can attain as opposed to how quickly it can cover a measured distance.

Top speed, mmmmmmm

I'd want to test mine so bad at a track some time heh.

Some notes from the folks at Cobb, the tuning company that created my engine management:

"The follow maps have been updated:

2002-2005 Subaru WRX
Speed Limiter removed for all transmission types (including Auto)"

Now, the older versions also had this feature which simply prevented the ECU from turning off boost control at a certain speed.

Trey @ Cobb on the new revisions:
"Manuals were limited to approximately 158mph and Autos were limited to 130 mph. I think this was pretty much only active on the autos. Basically what we did was change it so it no longer had any limit. In the ECU, the maximum value you could have set it for was 255 km/h (158mph). I changed it so it never limits [period]. Basically eliminated the limitation of what the maximum value could be set for."

Any guesses what mph my turbo and / or engine would explode at ?

What does this have to do with anything? I didn't ask for the definition of fast or to be bombarded with Physics. What is to be told in this thread is if there are any fast cars that can cover a measured distance quickly.
