Inspection Cleared Headlights - HappyIdiot - 03-31-2005 Hey, my name is Adam. I just came to my first meeting tonight and really enjoyed it. I am definetly looking forward to this Saturday. I had a question though about clearing the headlights on the WRX. I was wondering if I did this, would it still pass inspection? - Mike - 03-31-2005 I'm thinking you should be OK since it is still a DOT approved housing? I had non-DOT approved clear corners on my accord years ago and I always got away with it, but one time my Dad took it in and they failed. So 1) I think it may be legal and 2) if it isn't, it depends on who you take it to. Welcome btw! - HappyIdiot - 03-31-2005 Thx. Wow that was a quick response. - Rex4life - 03-31-2005 welcome. being a quasi-townie as i am, i'll give you some advice. go to the most beaten down shop you can find in the area that does inspections and ask for the man with the least teeth. they usually give you the blinker test, slap a sticker and send you on your way. but i guess that only helps if you are in va - WRXtranceformed - 03-31-2005 My WRX passed a safety inspection right after I cleared my headlights. It probably does depend on who you take it to, but my inspection was supervised by a state trooper apparently so.... If you ever got shit for it, you could just point out that your headlights say "DOT Legal" and "SUBARU" on them. They're totally legal as far as they know ! 8) You can also buy turn signal bulbs that are chrome colored but blink an amber color. Then you should be fine. I was just too lazy to get them. - Mike - 03-31-2005 Yeah you'd have to REALLY get a stickler who knew what they were looking for to fail
