PS3 - damnit458 - 03-09-2005

What have you guys heard/read about PS3? Is there any kind of deadline? Im just curious, im trying to hold off on buyin a PS2 to wait for the next gen console, but I dont have much of an idea on when its supposed to be out. I read today its supposed to be shown along w/the other next gen consoles at the next E3 event in a few months, but no time table was given for the release.

I really haven't heard anything official regarding the PS3 or Xbox 2, just a lot of rumor and speculation. I'll do some looking today in my endless surf to the end of the internet.

that makes two of us w/absolutely nothing to do =-)
gotta love springbreak, for me anyway -_-
I was going to invest again and buy a ps2 when gt4 came out, but the opinions voiced on here have swayed me against it. If its not great, its not worth spendin the money on a PS2 again, especially when there are only a few other games I would want to buy. Not to mention money not towards games = money towards car =-)

It stopped playing new games for some odd reason. It'd play all my old ones like FFVII and GT3, but it wouldnt play the newer ones. I sold it to one of my brothers friends for like $50 along w/all my old games.

kind of a "too late to do anything about it" comment.... but did you try cleaning it? I've had that happen to mine twice, where it starts having trouble with a few games. I popped it apart, blew it out, cleaned the lens with q-tip and alcohol, and it was good as new. Bought it at release and it's still kicking. (on 2nd power supply after an electrical storm)

and back to the topic? I got no info on the PS3. Smile

LOL heh

I did not try cleaning it! I really should have, but I didnt play it much anyways. To be honest the only games that have come out since that Ive wanted to play are MGS3, GT4, and GTA San Andreas. And its been a good year, year and a half since Ive sold it. So im not to dissapointed.

if the ps3 is going to be premeired at E3, a release date time frame should be thrown out with it. Of course, it could still be pushed back just a bit.

For anyone having problems with their ps2, it's a lot simpler than it being done for....
you can try...
-blowing the dust out
-cleaning the lens
-adjusting the lens (sometimes it gets knocked slightly out of alignment)
-replace parts (ie parts that come off)

you can find a "simple" guide to taking it apart all the way to the motherboard and taking the disc drive apart online somewhere, google it. Of course it voids the warranty. But, once you get the hang of it, you can get it apart and bakc together in less than ten minutes.
