So when am I suppose to heel toe? Just before the turn, at the start of the turn?
As I blip the throttle, I should be in neutral, then go into lower gear then foot off the clutch? Please walk me through it.

Upon entering your braking zone brake w/ the BALL of your foot (the part below your toes). Then press in the clutch. Move to netural. Slide your heel over to the gas pedal (so your toe's will be pointing towards the clutch pedal and the back of your foot towards the trans tunnel) and blip the throttle with the side of your foot (so it is more heel/side of foot downshift), engage the lower gear, matching RPM's w/ the THROTTLE release clutch turn in and trail brake 1/3 of the way through the turn, apply gas.

This assumes you don't need to double clutch your trans of course.

I was about to say, "Well, if your toe is ever hurt, what you can do is get some neosporin, some special socks, and a band-aid. That's how you start."

i can't do the orthodox method of heel/toe, because i can't physically bend my ankle to step on the brake and maneuever my heel to push down on the gas.

so what i do is use the combination of my big toe/left side of my right foot for the brake, and the pinky toe/right side of my right foot for the gas pedal. i pivot my foot width-wise on the brake pedal to push downward on the gas, and my heel stays planted on the floor. so far i've had no problems in any situation where my foot hasn't had enough stablilty on the brake pedal. this system works well for around town driving too, where you aren't trying to put all your foot power into the brake pedal, but instead just want a small push.

i've recently started playing with this as well, since it is apparently the only thing holding me back from group 3. At first I forced myself to make the exaggerated cross by actually using the heel and toe of my foot. Gradually it becomes more comfortable as you find a better way to do it and get used to rev-matching with your heel. I've been rev-matching in daily driving for almost a year now, so I've gotten pretty good at knowing where to go with that. IMO, by making yourself do it the uncomfortable way it will feel really funny and jerky until something clicks in your head. From then on, you will just work it until it feels right. Today I did my first "real" one, in the sense that the rev-match and downshift were executed perfectly while braking the whole way, and it felt incredible. Good luck soldier.

Good work Smile Its much fun, I do it every day when I drive Smile

you should not actually use your heel, roll your foot and do the blip with the outer edge of your foot

also, one thing that is often overlooked is your seat position. If your seat is too close, causing your knees to be too bent, you will not be able to rotate your leg to blip

I use my heel... brake w/ the ball of my f00t and rotate my ankle aroound and blippity the happy pedal with mah heel.

- Mike - 03-03-2005

i kinda get the corner of my heel/foot. perpetually sprained ankle does not like to rotate all the way Tongue

once y'all pick it up you'll be doing it at every corner on the street. i HAD to get new seats to do it in my car, the position just didn't allow it before.

- JackoliciousLegs - 03-03-2005

my feets too big y0.. have to use the inside/outside method on my small jap sports car

thats because you have the feet of a 14 year old girl. for those of us better endowed, heel is not an option. (and less motion= less to fuck up anyway)

- .RJ - 03-03-2005

I'll plant my size 10 foot in your ass.

- Mike - 03-03-2005

i think i wore size 10 in like 4th grade, you pussy.

- JackoliciousLegs - 03-03-2005

hey.... let's not start comparing shoe sizes... we're already a forum of 99% guys. Let's not make it any gayer.
