Spectator Event Poll - G.Irish - 03-02-2005 This year I have enough frequent flyer miles to go pretty much anywhere in the world. So I decided I'd go to Japan in October for a week so I could catch WRC Japan and F1 at Suzuka since those two races happen to be on back to back weekends in Japan. But...now that I'm starting to research actually getting out there I'm beginning to see its going to be a real challenge getting out there. Issues: *Language *No hotel vacancies withing 45 minutes of the track for F1 *WRC and F1 are on different islands of Japan *Traffic is horrendous in Japan Now, I could alternately go to Europe and catch a combination of events too. *27 Aug British Touring Car@Knockhill & 3 Sept F1@Monza *2 Oct World Touring Car@Valencia & 10 Oct F1@Spa *2 Oct World Touring Car@Valencia & WSBK@Imola *11 Sept WSBK@Lausitzring & 16 Sept Rally Great Britain *10 Oct F1@Spa & 16 Sept Rally GB Issues: *Having to learn a bit of more than one language. I can speak fair Spanish so the WTCC dates or the BTCC trip wouldn't be too hard I dunno, I guess I'm partial to Japan because I want to visit Tokyo and buy a whole lot of rare JDM bling (bonus points if anyone can find a picture of the STi Gauge cluster clock). Then there's the Honda museum and all of the OG ricer shops to hit up. Thoughts??? - CaptainHenreh - 03-02-2005 I vote for "Go to hell, you lucky bastard." - ScottyB - 03-02-2005 i'd try to go to Japan. despite the language barrier, they have a great deal of english speaking tourism, so there will definitely be ways to get around using english. as for traffic, well, not much you can do about that. Japan is an awesome place from what i've read. not only will you get to see rallying and F1, but you'll be immersed in a hell of a car culture, and the scenery in the mountains is probably gorgeous. - Dave - 03-02-2005 damn, you suck - Kaan - 03-02-2005 I voted for Japan. Traffic is going to suck, the price for everything is going to suck... Europe is not an uncommon place to go (hell i've been there :-P, all over it even)... Japan = mother land racing, Sp00n, M00gen, J's Racing, find a good junk yard and find me some CRX bling... Its not like people in Japan dont speak ANY english. Visit a brothel or slave shop while you are there ;-) Its not like you are going to amsterdam while you are in Europe :-P - Andy - 03-02-2005 According to my GF, the flight to Japan is 16hrs, and she had a 30 minutes refuel in San Fran. She says they most people English in the city, but its that Mr. Miyagi kind that no one understands. - Feersty - 03-02-2005 Wait for Jay Ray, he went to Japan and will convince you to go as well. - JohnC - 03-02-2005 Go to Japan. I'll give you a list of parts that I need
- Andy - 03-02-2005 JohnC Wrote:Go to Japan. I'll give you a list of parts that I need I need a Silvia Front Clip Make that two, I'm sure Dave wants one too.
- JackoliciousLegs - 03-02-2005 Japan... man o man would that be cool... and you'd get to see a WRC and F1 race? do it. - CaptainHenreh - 03-02-2005 JohnC Wrote:Go to Japan. I'll give you a list of parts that I need Ditto.
- Dragon - 03-02-2005 Asian sl00ts > European sl00ts so Japan gets my vote. - Mike - 03-02-2005 Dragon Wrote:Asian sl00ts > European sl00ts so Japan gets my vote. not. - .RJ - 03-02-2005 I'm thinking about doing the candian GP jun 11-12th - its the same weekend as nasa-va @ summit (shenandoah), anyone else want to go? - JohnC - 03-02-2005 .RJ Wrote:I'm thinking about doing the candian GP jun 11-12th - its the same weekend as nasa-va @ summit (shenandoah), anyone else want to go? Tempting. - G.Irish - 03-02-2005 .RJ Wrote:I'm thinking about doing the candian GP jun 11-12th - its the same weekend as nasa-va @ summit (shenandoah), anyone else want to go? Do it! But you've gotta get on your tickets and accomodations like NOW! I'm sure all the hotels in the city are booked by now... - Evan - 03-02-2005 Dragon Wrote:Asian sl00ts > European sl00ts so Japan gets my vote.not everyone has yellow fever I think that the *10 Oct F1@Spa & 16 Sept Rally GB would be the best. none of the drawbacks of japan, but you still get to see F1 and WRC - G.Irish - 03-02-2005 Evan Wrote:Dragon Wrote:Asian sl00ts > European sl00ts so Japan gets my vote.not everyone has yellow fever Whoops, I meant 9 Sept F1@Spa |
