Rotors to test fit...? - PDenbigh - 02-10-2005 MM, I am trying to find a rotor that fits my car now and so I'm scouring for some 5x114.3 rotors that I can test fit. I won't even need to drive on it, I just need to bolt it up and see how the size and offset work out. Here are some cars that I know have this bolt pattern, 12mm studs, and rough wheel size, that I'd like to try: 88-97 Probe GT 97-on Avenger ES 91-95 Stealth ES, RT, AWD, Turbo, Any 02-on Civic SI 97-01 Prelude V-Tech 99-on S2000 93-96 RX-7 87-92 RX7 Turbo II 89-97 Eclipse Turbo 91-97 3000 GT, GT VR4 95-97 240 SE SX 84-89 300 ZX Turbo 90-96 300 ZX 93-96 Supra with 16" wheels (tried dave's 13" rotor, too large) 86-93 Supra Turbo If anyone has any extra rotors that I could borrow for 5 minutes just to see if it'd fit, I'd greatly appricaite it. Otherwise Advance Auto is going to hate me when I buy 3, return them, etc, until I find one that fits. Thanks, Peter - .RJ - 02-10-2005 I have some ITR rotors...... Of course, my location probably isn't conducive to test-fitting - but if you can make it out here, you're welcome to try these out. And if my new wheel studs and spacers work out for the VR-4 rotors, I'll sell you my almost-new Z32 rotors for a good price
- PDenbigh - 02-10-2005 John, Would you be so kind as to get some measurements for me? 1. Overall Diameter 2. Lay the rotor flat on the ground, and from the inside, measure and see how thick the whole assembly is, including the hat. These two measurements will give me an idea as to wheather or not I make the drive. Thanks! - PDenbigh - 02-10-2005 Alright, went to the parts stores and all they had were rotors from a probe and an avenger. Neither worked. If anyone even has one of these cars, and would let me take off a wheel and rotor, it'd take 10 minutes. I'm in a pinch here, VIR is 8 days away and I have no brakes. - lillitnn92 - 02-10-2005 xr is rwd right? so, try a ranger. we have the same 5X114.3 bolt pattern. - Ryan T - 02-10-2005 You can try one of the rotors on my supra if you'd like. We'll have to remove it because I don't have a spare, but your more than welcome to it. - CaptainHenreh - 02-10-2005 Ryan T Wrote:You can try one of the rotors on my supra if you'd like. Likewise, if I have a few spare minutes I'll take one off my supra. - PDenbigh - 02-10-2005 Ryan and Rex, That's great, I will take you both up on itiIf they are 12" rotors or slightly less. I will do the work too! As for the ranger, thanks for the suggestion. The problem is the ranger uses 1/2" studs whereas my current setup as 12mm, and under hard braking a 1/2" spec rotor will shift causing vibration and other unplesantries. Rex and Ryan, when can we get together? - lillitnn92 - 02-10-2005 PDenbigh Wrote:As for the ranger, thanks for the suggestion. You are going to have the same problem with my rotors. Which do you want Stock Front (10.8) Stock Rear (10.5) or Current Front (13") or Current Rear (11"). --chad - Ryan T - 02-10-2005 I have to work 3-11 fri/sat/sun. I could come by on saturday morning sometime if your free. - JohnC - 02-11-2005 These are the Z32 rotors. The VR-4 rotors are 12.5" in diameter, which puts them out of contention (I think)... Rex, that supra one sounds like a good candidate, it's the "tallest" so far. Care if I come out and borrow one? 421-0200 is my #. Call when ya can. Thanks! - white_2kgt - 02-11-2005 pete did you get my voicemail? with you needing 2.25 mine don't sound like they will work. --chad - KPWSerpiente - 02-11-2005 I have a feeling mine would work. But I don't know when I'll be in the hburg again. -T - PDenbigh - 02-11-2005 Thanks Travis, a bunch of the guys are comign by tomorrow to see what we can work out. Hopefully among one of the three cars we'll be testing, something will work out. *fingers crossed* |
