See kids, this is why red mist is bad.

Har!

Didnt see that one coming.... he went in off line, and stayed in it after it got loose and then just went both feet in w/o really trying to save it.

- Feersty - 01-29-2005

HOly crap. What is the better handling car? S2000 or C5?

- .RJ - 01-29-2005

The st00k is probably better in transitional handling and is nimbler but the Vette has more grip. Pound for pound the S2000 probably has better handling though.

he was dicking with whatever that thing on his dash is (laptimer?) and was obviously distracted. RJ it sounded to me like he lifted, not stayed in it, and then didnt correct until it was way too late.
there is a lot of wind noise that makes it hard to tell what is throttle and what isnt, but thats my take on it.

- BLINGMW - 01-29-2005

wow, that guy sucked! He was always using much less of the track than the S2k, and if he had just let it drift out where he should have gone, he would have been ok, but he pinched it off. What a goon. Start with a 318 bud.

- ScottyB - 01-30-2005

the vette's lines didn't look fluid at all. 50 seconds in, and watch how the S2k takes the left/right transition....the vette misses it entirely. seems like that guy was focused completely on the honda and not on points on the track to turn in/apex/track out.

as for messing with his laptimer thingy....im really sure he's just got his hand wrapped around the shifter, it didn't look like it made contact with the dashboard. either way, it sure sucks to wreck like that.

topgun, fool Wink

It looked like he had sooo much time to recover... you know. He just took his sweet time countersteering.

- Dave - 01-30-2005

smoother is better on track. Yanking on the wheel to countersteer mayh have been even more disastrous (triple roll with a 520 front flip off the guardrail, as opposed to a simple 180 off the guardrail Big Grin).
I got the impression that he just didn't care almost. His line was absolutely awful and he never made full use of the track. When he started to slip out on that last turn, he should have felt some king of gut feeling, but it would appear that he didn't since he just went on his merry way into that guardrail. As for his application of throttle, I couldn't discern that from the road noise.
Anybody have the actual story that goes along with this video clip?

Sucks for that guy.

I received word yesterday that I will be allowed to auto-x the C5 one time this year. Smile
