Remote Start - bluhayz - 01-23-2005 Hey Guys, Basically, I'm interested in remote start. How it works, how to possibly install it. Does it work on manual transmission cars? Does anybody have any experience with it? I just figured it'd be nice if I could start my car from my room. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Mike - 01-23-2005 dunno much other than yes it works on manual cars. i think the install is a bit harder as you have to trick the car in to thinking the clutch pedal is down, and you definitely have to leave it out of gear when you park it

Just unplug the stupid safety switch, I did ![]() --chad - Feersty - 01-23-2005 Google! - KPWSerpiente - 01-23-2005 If you have wiring skills, then it isn't a problem. Unplug the clutch safety switch, as Chad said, in manual tranny cars and you are good. In fact...you should have that clutch switch unplugged already if you drive a manual. -T - JackoliciousLegs - 01-23-2005 Feersty Wrote:Google!you should talk feersty.... why should it be unplugged already Travis? - Mike - 01-23-2005 JackoliciousLegs Wrote:why should it be unplugged already Travis? i'm curious too. - CaptainHenreh - 01-23-2005 I'm considering putting a remote start on the Supra, but I don't know how nice it will play with the turbo timer. Of course, I could also get a new turbotimer with remote start. Hrm. *goes to ebay* - Dave - 01-24-2005 my 240 starts without putting the clutch in. Weird... - BLINGMW - 01-24-2005 Dave Wrote:my 240 starts without putting the clutch in. Weird... Is it supposed to have a switch? Some cars don't. BMW's don't. - Jewels - 01-24-2005 Most importantly is to leave the car out of gear, a friend of mine's dad left her camaro in gear after he drove it, and well when she started it from like 20 or so yards away she watched her car chase some sunbathing guy across campus. - Chris - 01-24-2005 Jewels Wrote:Most importantly is to leave the car out of gear, a friend of mine's dad left her camaro in gear after he drove it, and well when she started it from like 20 or so yards away she watched her car chase some sunbathing guy across campus. I would never trust my parking brake enough to leave it in neutral... - Feersty - 01-24-2005 Yeah when I drove my dad's truck you would always have to put it in gear, be it Reverse and First gear. That is definitely a habit I couldn't stop. - Mike - 01-24-2005 Chris Wrote:Jewels Wrote:Most importantly is to leave the car out of gear, a friend of mine's dad left her camaro in gear after he drove it, and well when she started it from like 20 or so yards away she watched her car chase some sunbathing guy across campus. what's a parking brake? +1 to list of things i need to do before i go to the track this season. - white_2kgt - 01-24-2005 MichaelJComputer Wrote:Chris Wrote:Jewels Wrote:Most importantly is to leave the car out of gear, a friend of mine's dad left her camaro in gear after he drove it, and well when she started it from like 20 or so yards away she watched her car chase some sunbathing guy across campus.
