Honda Brakes... - Kaan - 01-18-2005 Ok ... .RJ or anyway else ... can you tell me if i need to deal with bearings when i do the rotors on the CRX front end? the last week or so has been an absolute disaster with the car. i get run into, brakes are DONE, thermostat has to be shot because it ran hot with no heat on the way to pick up my car pool buddy.... best part is, his car has a shot tranny and mine is going to be in peices this afternoon! someone chime in with something... oh and to add to all the other BS i'm puking my guts up at work! i love my honda reliability  - Mike - 01-18-2005 no Kaan Wrote:i love my honda reliability  how many other 13 y/o cars do you see on the road? - .RJ - 01-18-2005 nope - Kaan - 01-18-2005 there was supposed to be ALOT of sarcasim in there... The car has been great other than what i do to it... brakes, tires, and thermostat in 2.5 years... not bad... i did blow up a perfectly good motor... but this motor is running even better. I just wish i wasnt having it all at once while i'm sick. - Evan - 01-18-2005 MichaelJComputer Wrote:how many other 13 y/o cars do you see on the road?quite a few, actually "honda reliability" = myth - Kaan - 01-18-2005 just cause RJ keeps breaking them doesnt mean its a myth! - Mike - 01-18-2005 Evan Wrote:MichaelJComputer Wrote:how many other 13 y/o cars do you see on the road?quite a few, actually most of them are hondas or toyotas. - .RJ - 01-18-2005 Evan Wrote:"honda reliability" = myth *looks at my car* *looks at evan's car* Hmm....... - Mike - 01-18-2005 .RJ Wrote:Evan Wrote:"honda reliability" = myth are they 13 years old? - .RJ - 01-18-2005 Dumbass, I was making fun of evan's busted ass chitbox. - Kaan - 01-18-2005 Ok the top tube from the radiator is hot and you can hear it boil lol... no heat... and the in car temp went very close to hot... and that was at 5am when it was 15 degrees outside... its only 5 min to my buddies house so i made it there and parked it... i'm assuming thermostat... anyone? - Kaan - 01-18-2005 any my car is 15 years old :-P yours might be 13 :-P - .RJ - 01-18-2005 Check the lower rad hose - make sure that is hot, that is where the t-tsat is. I'd replace that, and the rad cap, and flush the system out w/ honda coolant (premixed, add no water). - Kaan - 01-18-2005 the rad cap? can you hook me with that deal on the m00gen shit  ... i'll see what i can do... i'm replacing the 02 again... i'm going to get used to this working out in the cold thing again. - .RJ - 01-18-2005 why are you replacing the o2 again? If they are going bad like this you have some other problem. Just get OEM t-stat and rad cap from the dealer. - Kaan - 01-18-2005 what i should have said is i killed another one! cause i didnt replace the one that blew up in the only motor... but that one went bad and now this one went bad, but then again it was off the new motor and that had been sitting a while. - Evan - 01-18-2005 .RJ Wrote:Evan Wrote:"honda reliability" = myth *looks at SM paddock* *looks at HC paddock* hmmm...... your car is sitting on jackstands in yoru driveway. I drove mine to work yesterday. what were you saying again? - mpg9999 - 01-18-2005 In my experience, the generic brand track auto type oxygen sensor suck and will not last. The one I got from them lasted a few months. I monitor my o2 sensor voltage with my techtom, so I know when its dead. I only use bosche now, which is what the OEM nissan ones are. Autozone sells these for a much better price then the dealership, around 60 bucks for my application. Running extremely rich for extended periods of time, or leaded gas can kill an oxygen sensor pretty quick. So yeah, be careful about buying crap parts. - Kaan - 01-18-2005 Well we got the O2 and the Termostat done before night fall.... not bad when you get home at 5pm from traffic.... brakes on the weekend i guess. - Dave - 01-18-2005 all my cars are 12 years old or more. |
