Tire mounting is a bitch...

I head to Costo, they only mount tires bought from them.
I call Curry's, they want like $120.
I schedule w/ Tires Plus, and catch them taking a customer car for a joyride. I miss my appointment, although I didn't really miss it.
I call Walmart, and the guy doesn't think they can mount a 195/55/15 on a Civic Si wheel (the stock f'ing size).

GAWD! Who knows how I'm gonna get my 205 (really 217)/50/15 Azenis back on the 15x7 wheels that I order...

Campbell's Equipment in Palmyra will mount/balance for $10/wheel + $2/tire disposal...

- Sijray21 - 01-04-2005

go to merchants...had two sets mounted there in no time

not sure where there is one near you, but i'm sure you can be resourcefull

- Mike - 01-04-2005

left a message with merchant's, they'll be getting back with me later today Smile

- G.Irish - 01-04-2005

Yeah I like Merchant's, they've always gone a good job for me.

- Evan - 01-04-2005

Walmart has been great (and cheap) for me so far

there is also Kim's in annandale that allison takes her car to. that place does a great job

oh, and Tires Plus in chantilly (next to curry's) are the retards who couldnt align my car, then wanted me to pay twice for them to fix it.
I got banned for life after I called them on it and said I wasnt paying Smile

- navin - 01-04-2005

Just Tires near Fairfax honduh Mikey, ask for Ben and tell him you know Mebri..

maybe he'll even hook you up

- Chris - 01-04-2005

costco mounted my azenis that I brought to them... oh well.

- Maengelito - 01-04-2005

surprisingly, the cheapest place i've found to mount and balance tires has been the dealership (brown auto)

- BLAIR - 01-04-2005

Maybe cuz you knew a guy that worked there Wink. Ok, I guess those arnt the sets your talking about.

About the joyriding, are you sure thats what it was? You do know sometimes they will test drive the car to duplicate a problem, and to ensure whatever they did fixed it.

- Mike - 01-04-2005

Oh it was definitely a test drive because they had pulled the car down off the lift and out of the garage. I think they were testing how well the AWD system liked 4k rpms and boost.

i had complications with costco when i went there to get tires mounted too. apparently, my tire size wasn't "correct" for the wheel diameter and width that honda apparently says is ok for aftermarket wheels on an accord - according to paperwork costco keeps on the subject. so no mountage for me.

that's why you just take the wheels and tires on the back of a pickup and say here, do your damn job, mount 'em now.

i went to walmart... took a decent amount of time, but chassis lube (basically lubed up my clutch pedal which was squeaking), oil change, mount and balance of 4 tires cost less than $60. very happy. i forgot what regular tires sounded like (nothing), i almost enjoy driving my car every day again!

Don't forget to check out their (not so) nice selection of bling bling chrome reeumz while you're there!!!

- BLINGMW - 01-12-2005

don't forget to check your oil level either! Walmart blew the valve guide seals out of my parent's Camry by overfilling, and another guy I know drove home without his oil cap.

you get what you pay for!

- Mike - 03-22-2005

damnit, went to walmart to get the track tires/wheels mated up today and the asshole manager who originally told me they cannot mount 195/55/15 was there... he refused to mount used tires. fucker.

- Feersty - 03-22-2005

What a jackass!

- Evan - 03-22-2005

walmart is the only place I have ever been to that has actually torqued my wheels back down properly. I brought a torque wrench to check and I was very surprised that the torque was already dead-on
