I know nothing about wheels... - JackoliciousLegs - 12-09-2004

I'm looking to get beater winter wheels. A friend of mine has a set of 99 maxima wheels that are 215x55x16. Will those fit on a 90 TII? Stock wheel size is: 205x55x16.

PS. They're both 5 lug.

Do the offsets match up?

- CaptainHenreh - 12-09-2004

The question isn't your tiresize, it's your offset. It should work, though, as they're both around +35, I think.

- CaptainHenreh - 12-09-2004

Ok, that's a big confirmed, both cars have a +40 offset. So as long as the centerbore is the same, or you can get an adapter, you are made in the shade.

i have no idea what that means Smile

i was actually thinking about tossing 'zenis on them and using them for autox/track wheels. I'd keep my stockers on with all seasons all of the time. I'd like to avoid driving with zenis in the rain.

Stock TIIs are 40mm 16x7 w/ 114.3x5 bolt pattern...

- ScottyB - 12-09-2004

when i had my max i knew a good bit about all the generations...hopefully if my memory serves me right the '99 SE wheels are 16x6.5 and weigh in at something like 17 pounds. the GXE wheels are 15x6.5. both are 114.3x5 and have a +40 offset. if you are still interested in other nissan wheels that will work:

-1989-94 maxima wheels 15x6.5

-1985-89 300ZX Z31 wheels (the 1987 turbo wheels are 16x7 instead of the normal 15x6.5, and are painted charcoal grey)

-1990 and on 300ZX Z32 wheels for the NA model 16x7

Check twinturbo.net classifieds - someone is always looking to sell or give away their NA wheels...

You can also use Mustang wheels, if you can get a machine shop to make you hub adapters that big.

Neil downtown might have some wheels laying around... hes got all kinds of busted rx-7's.

- JackoliciousLegs - 12-09-2004

well, i'm getting these maxima wheels for free. They're off the top of the line 99 maxima (se?). Will they fit and should I pick them up?

side question... in size designation what's 16x6.5? stock is 16x7 for me.

uhhh the width of the wheel.

- JackoliciousLegs - 12-09-2004

thanks RJ... I was looking around for that on tirerack's site last night.

- ScottyB - 12-09-2004

if you're getting maxima SE wheels, they are 16x7. otherwise, all maxima wheels of that generation are 6.5 inches wide, not 7
