3800 series Supercharged V6 Mods - Bassdude2K - 10-21-2004 I recently came by a 1996 Supercharged Buick Riviera with 130K miles. I basically was given permission to do whatever I want with the car, basically to run it into the ground. I would like to make some mods to it but I dont want to spend that much cash on it since i may buy a car in the near future. I figure a pulley swap on the supercharger sounds like a pretty worthwile bang for the buck mod. Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing? From the research ive done so far either a 3.4" or 3.25" pulley would sound nice. I want to spend the absolute Least amount of money possible. There is also much mention of a required tool to swap pulleys that costs like twice the amount of the pulley....sounds like bullshit to me. I guess I also need to be worried about Knock Retard. Any and all input would help. Thanks. - Ryan T - 10-21-2004 the pulley upgrade is great. Any GTP update will work, its the same engine. They will run mid-high 14's stock, mild mods. Put a pulley upgrade and in intake/exhaust and you'l be in high 13's and low 14's. - bluhayz - 10-21-2004 I think he's also looking for any advice you all might have before he starts. So if any of you have done one of these pulley swaps, or knows anything about them please post some information that would be useful before we start ripping into this mod. You need to determine what the size of the pulley is going to do to your b00st...and even before that you need to learn what is pushing the stock system and what isn't. Any turbo/supercharged car is going to make more power running more b00st -> you just need to know what it can handle. -T - Mike - 10-21-2004 i have a feeling those motors are pretty bulletproof. i'd say get a 1" pulley and call it a day. - Feersty - 10-21-2004 I'd like to see pics of the car, Rivieras have always intrigued me. - Bassdude2K - 10-21-2004 Where can I upload my pictures to? - lyltoy - 10-21-2004 I love these cars, my dad has a 2001 Grand Prix GTP (the Daytona 500 limited edition). Only downside, again is they usually only come in an automatic. My dads is bone stock from the factory but it will haul ass when you put your foot into it. Gotta love a car straight from the dealer with b00st. I hope to buy the car from my dad whenever he decides to buy something new .

I'd have one. - bluhayz - 10-22-2004 but the 240 rocks so much! - CaptainHenreh - 10-22-2004 bluhayz Wrote:but the 240 rocks so much! I know not this "240" of which you speak.
