992 GT3 and McLaren Artura Debuts Today - G.Irish - 02-16-2021 Kinda unusual to see two cars in this class debut the same day but I ain't complainin. The 992 GT3 dropped this morning with a bit more info and the configurator is up in some of the overseas markets. Already knew that it was the only 911 to get double wishbones in the front, but today they revealed that they ran a 6:59 Ring time with it. It seems like just yesterday only the first street legal street cars we're going under 7 minutes, and now the *regular* GT3 can do it. I'm on the wait list for it but truth be told my name probably wouldn't come up until sometime next year or later. https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/2021/products/porsche-911-gt3-world-premiere-livestream-23624.html UK Configurator: https://cc.porsche.com/icc/ccCall.do?rt=1613494224&screen=1536x864&userID=EG&lang=en&PARAM=parameter_internet_en&ORDERTYPE=992810&CNR=C16&MODELYEAR=2021&hookURL=https%3a%2f%2fwww.porsche.com%2fuk%2fmodelstart%2fall%2f RE: 992 GT3 and McLaren Artura Debuts Today - Kaan - 02-16-2021 dat swan neck life! 992 GT3 and McLaren Artura Debuts Today - davej - 02-16-2021 Like on the list, on the list? Or on the list for a press car? Either way, subscribed. 992 GT3 and McLaren Artura Debuts Today - G.Irish - 02-16-2021 I waited too long so I'm like #20 at Tyson's Porsche. So I could potentially get a call sometime next year. Which might not be the worst thing, we'll see. But it looks great and I'd imagine it's gonna be the fastest car in its class by a good margin. We're your biggest fans! Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk 992 GT3 and McLaren Artura Debuts Today - G.Irish - 02-23-2021 Don't worry, I'll drop by whenever I get my hands on a GT car. Do you still get to spec it how you want or will they be like here, we have this one and you owe us 43k more for dealer options? Is it too soon (or maybe already too late) to get on the list for it when you're done with it? I'll even throw in a 500hp 7 seater wagon, the perfect daily dad mobile to compliment when you switch out the GT for a McLaren. 992 GT3 and McLaren Artura Debuts Today - G.Irish - 03-02-2021 So far the deal is that if/when my number comes up I can spec the car the way I want for msrp. But at the end of the day dealer could still pull "market price" at the last minute. Tysons seems to have a good rep though. I've also reached out to the new mega dealer in Chantilly since their list is much, much shorter. But they wanted a deposit for an allocation at "market price". I'm like, that doesn't make any sense for me, why pay for the privilege to pay a markup? Any dealer will sell me a car at a markup. So I'm trying to work an angle where I buy a GT4 with them now, for a msrp GT3 allocation later, like early next year. No way I can get an early GT3 without paying a markup so I'd rather punt until about spring next year rather than get a GT3 delivered in the late fall or winter of '21. Meanwhile I could enjoy a GT4, and if the GT3 falls through I ain't gonna be too mad. If you buy that new RS6 we've got a deal [emoji41] Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk 992 GT3 and McLaren Artura Debuts Today - G.Irish - 04-02-2021 So GT3 pricing and the US configurator have come out and the price hike was pretty hefty. I expected the price to rise by about $10k but it went up by $18k and it looks like the options care a lot pricier too. Doesn't rule it out for me, but chances are I wouldn't have a crack at one until 2022 anyway. I also think Porsche is gonna have a hard time with production capacity with the semiconductor shortage, so there may not be as many cars coming off the line as usual. Still not sure what the GT4 story will be for 2022. I've heard conflicting things about whether it will be available at all this year. Seems like getting a lightly used one won't be too hard though.
