Maintainance Light in the Acura - bassmangrammy - 10-20-2004
I got my oil changed yesterday (by my long time mechanic) and I was driving home today and the "Maintainance Required" light came on. Any ideas? Does anyone have the "decoder thingy" for my car (or Honda)? Thanks.

maintenance required or check engine? or are they the same thing?

Maintenance required = just a mileage trigger. there should be a switch under the dash to hit.

what he said. it is just telling you that it is time to change the oil (based on mileage). my accord had a little button to punch on the cluster.

same here. on my accord, i turn the key to accesorie, and hold down a button next to the trip odo reset for 10 secs.

Be glad you dont have one of the lights that require you to have the key on, engine off, press gas pedle three times, press and hold, jump up and down, then spin around 2 times.
