Project Bald Eagles - turboneticsSS - 06-02-2020

I flew out to pick up one of my dream cars (personally went through some crazy procedures to remain safe from any virus in addition to what the airlines are doing, better safe than sorry) here’s my 04 viper with a Paxton blower. Was shockingly comfortable to drive for 17 hours, I LOVE the seats, they’re amazing, and it’s def fast, oddly doesn’t feel much slower than my vette was and that made 210whp more, the v10 sounds are a hoot too. But yeah I’ve always dreamed of a viper and I’m so excited to put my personal spin on this thing.

Went for a ride in one of these once... Screamer for sure and it didn't have a blower. Can't imagine what it's like with one. What's the hp?

RE: Project Bald Eagles - turboneticsSS - 06-02-2020

Makes 650 at the wheels supposedly but he didn’t have a dyno print out, has a ton of torque throughout the range. I’d also like to add the plates are the previous owners not mine haha.

RE: Project Bald Eagles - Senor_Taylor - 06-02-2020

Why did I make the stupid assumption that you bought something stock.

What’s this “stock” you speak of, and hahahaha I haven’t abandoned my Chevy roots but I guess I’m part mopar now.

RE: Project Bald Eagles - davej - 06-03-2020

Congrats! That thing looks absolutely menacing!
But do you realize the flogging you'll get if you just post a teaser photo and no video of how it sounds?
I demand more content.

holy shit! did not expect one of these in the project threads. love it, always wanted a viper. not big on the rear spoiler but it still looks awesome. i can't even imagine one with a blower.

how's the view out the front? the hood looks like it goes on forever, that's gotta take some getting used to.

RE: Project Bald Eagles - turboneticsSS - 06-08-2020

I’m not a huge fan of the spoiler either, I think I’ll remove it ultimately, possibly when I switch out the impossibly heavy trunk for a cf version. Fortunately I’m used to the hook after having the vette, relatively easy to see out of because the flares peak at the edges of the hood for the most part. It’s definitely a wild ride, it makes a couple hundred hp less than the vette but good god it has torque everywhere through the power band.

RE: Project Bald Eagles - turboneticsSS - 06-27-2020

Got a killer deal on some monoblock forged CCW c14’s, and a buddy was able to get me MT et streets for wholesale, it has traction in every single gear now.

RE: Project Bald Eagles - turboneticsSS - 08-15-2020

Update: just springs installed for now, with lowering caps in the rear to even it out, led dogs installed because of a cracked fog light incident, headers are on just waiting on some mufflers for the 3” catback I’m building, and I have a wingless trunk on order. Also going to get the tune updated since it was originally tuned on 91 (CA car originally) so quite a bit of power is left on the table while still playing it safe as well as the long tubes and 3” catback.

What does this look like with the roof on?

How do you like driving it around as "just a car" and have you/can you figure out how bad that V10 really is on gas? Asking for uh, a friend.

Cruising around its great with the top down I love it, very mild mannered and a ton of low end torque. Really enjoyed it at pocono, it was fun to stretch its legs, and yeah a supercharged 8.3 v10 isn't exactly the model for efficiency. I drive it to work but only sometimes because round trip is a 1/4 tank.

RE: Project Bald Eagles - SlimKlim - 08-25-2020

What's your realistic fuel economy? Can it get into the double digits?

Also do you actually need all the gears? Or could you get by with like, 3rd and 6th?

On the highway it wasn't nearly as bad as expected since I drove it back from MN, around town it does double digits but I would say just barely (12mpg maybe) and that's with a blower. But I have to admit, it only really sounds good when you put your foot in it so I find myself doing that all the time. 6th gear is useless because of how long the gearing is, I cruised back from picking it up in 5th gear @ 80mph @ a little less than 2k rpm. My plan is to go with 3.55's to clear that up, everybody on forums seem to think that's what they should've come with originally also "the best bang for you buck" modification you can do to them.

I dont know, I never put it up haha, kidding Ill post a photo of it with the roof up once I get the new wingless trunk on because it looks stupid with the wing and roof up.

RE: Project Bald Eagles - SlimKlim - 08-27-2020

Crazy they are geared that lazy, my 5th and 6th are on top of each other
