Learn me on business on Google - Sully - 10-11-2019

My company (local contractor) is talking about a tv Commercial in the future for our remodel department. We do mostly new construction and haven't needed to advertise but now branching back into Reno stuff. They are talking about a commercial but if you Google any of the things we specialize in or contractor, we're not even on the list of local businesses. Is there a way to buy onto the lists like advertising with Google or is there some algorithm that makes that list based off some internet magic. Seems like you'd just pay Google and get on the list but then how do you get to the top of the list. Figure someone here might have experience with it

Been a while so I'm sure someone will have better info, but unless you're advertising with key words on Google for the top 1/2 ads, you'll need to do some search engine optimization to get up in the regular rankings. There are tons of firms that can redo your website for SEO.

Facebook advertising is also scary targeted and effective.

Skip the commercial. Expensive to make, expensive to run. Money better spent on SEO my opinion. My cousin manages a sales team at an international SEO firm. Let me know if you want a connection.

Google My Business is a service where you take ownership of your public face on Google products. The fact you don't show up is because the machines can't find your site and/or classify it. That can all be fixed with SEO. The business should also take ownership of their GMB account and make sure all the fields are filled out (correctly). It's free, but you could then pay to promote.
